Help:Refinancing with online companies

Original Post

Folks, Do any of you have experience on refinancing with online mortgage companies like lendingtree, sebonic etc? Their fees and rate look pretty lower than the brick&mortar firms that I have used before. Seeing the historic low interest rate, I am sure other people are also in the same boat. Please share your experience so a lot can benefit.

I have not used online mortgage companies, but I would try local credit union. They usually have competitive rate and sometime offers no fee/points financing.

Whatever you do, don't use your phone number and essential email address. You will be flooded with calls/emails about mortgages. Lending tree wasn't bad, it did expose us to more options that we wouldn't have thought about. But be weary of the brokers, most of the times it's better to deal directly with a bank - but sometimes the brokers bring in a good deal as long as you do a thorough check on broker's history.
