You call your family members in Nepal using some phone card, or services like keku, raza and most of the time it gets 'samparka huna sakena' and even if phone rings through, it sounds like call is ringing and going to get through. But it never gets through. And later with luck, when phone gets through, they say they never got the call ring or missed call. It doesn't happen all time, just once in a while. One time, I called the number and it went to some strangers phone. I checked the log and it was the right number but the receiver(she was in some village) who received the phone has different phone number than I dialed. Baffled, I came here to ask that question. Has that ever happened to you guys?

I use Rebtel. Its a little expensive than other cards. 17 cents per minute. But.. benefits
1) you can either call over phone minutes or over wifi
2) no rounding fee or maintenance fee or other such shitty fees that we are not aware of.
3) Even in the peak traffic time ( like in dashain-tihar for example) , I never had problem connecting. I dont know if calling card has to do anything with this, may be it gets priority traffic.
4) And most importantly, you get crisp and clear sound.

My bad too Bitter...
It used to happen to me a lot when I was using cheaper calling cards - mostly the no rings on the other side... On top of that no clear lines, drastic decrease in balance etc. etc. Had a few calls go to wrong numbers as well, don't know if It was my fat finger or something wrong on their side..

BT, I have had a exact same situation like yours couple of times. I called to my relatives and somebody from different places pick up the phone. One time I have called my father and as always I greeted him saying dhog gare buwa and this guy from another line was shocked and told me that he is not married and never had a son :-)
