I’ve always felt that many first-world, third-tier, and second-tier universities are a scam. The reality is that a lot of students come to the U.S. simply because getting an F1 visa is their only remaining option. How many Europeans people attend schools like St. Cloud State University or Troy University, or many others like them? These universities seem to exist solely to exploit students from poorer countries, preying on their circumstances and turning the F1 visa into an immigration racket. It reminds me of those schools in Nepal that cater to the children of "Galaicha kharkhna" but in Ameircan standard if such schools ever existed here in Nepal. The entire existence of these universities seems to revolve around profiting off desperate students from poor countries rather than genuine education. Nowadays, some universities have started requiring an I-20 deposit from international students, in addition to the application fee, before issuing the I-20. Yoo ta Chor sanga naai chori bhako dekhiyoo. What’s even more frustrating is the way American embassy bureaucrats act as if they have the moral authority to determine who is a ‘genuine’ student and who isn’t when applying to these institutions. Can’t they see what’s really happening, or is it just another business dressed up as a systematic process? While Trump is focused on addressing immigration syndicates, I hope action is taken against these universities, or at the very least, that someone has the courage to speak out about these issue. Eta pheri Education USA, USEF Nepal le naai yei F1 visa syndicate promote gareko jasto dekhyoo typo pani pach tarey hotel ma. Hait kasto bidambana...

No one is being forced to choose these paths; it's entirely up to your discretion. If you think drugs are bad, don't take them—don’t ask others to make them less harmful.

You can always transfer or reapply to Ivy leagues once you are here in USA. I had a friend who went to UPenn after coming to USA on Duquesne University visa. She had money and brain too but that is another story.
