timer,
I copy from your earlier post
'3) India will not directly take Nepal like Sikkim because Darjaling, Sikkim are already problem there, we are always indirectly dicteted from India from forever, so make good relation with india and try to make properous Nepal. American and Canadian are different but they are good. American and Maxican are different but even Maxico is doing good, so India and Nepal are never same and won't be same forever but try to be good with good international relation, good politics, good society. Then Indain will respect us, if not we will be Bahadur Forever. I bet.'
That is what I also believe. I honestly believe that none of the national leaders in Nepal want to make the country as part of India from inside of their heart, but every time there is a change in political equation to form a new government they seek for indian favor. They have failed to realize that, all of these activities are accumulating from historical times thus making Nepal more dependent on India politically and in other respects.
But, being part of India? i cant see any such thing in my life time. I dont know why people are so pessimistic, though it is good to keep on warning leaders from making wrong decisions. People who know all the reality know that we should have a good relationship with India to develop and to live in peace.
After forming different states under the federal Nepal and having a good representation of madeshis in the central government, the country will be stronger, i am positive. If the central leaders of the major parties try to zero the presence of madeshis in central governmetn politics and FAIL TO give the general people in madesh a feeling that Kathmandu do not discriminate any the citizens, then there will be a feeling of need of a separate nation. Even, lord pashupati nath won't be there save from disintegration. I hope that time will never come.

Shantipriya Ji,
Every one know what is separation, what is mild separation, what is dilution here. I have known that thing. Have you ever been to Tarai and worked there. It had been a while I have been in US but I think probably about 10 years ago, I worked In Nepalgung, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat as an engineer, socail worker. I am a Parbate thito born in remote village but grown up in heart of Kathmandu. So, I know how Pahad and Tarai works. Probably, you haven't seen how Nepali Madesh and Indian boarder are integrated in marriage, socio-culture as well as crime.
Timer Ji,
My first suggestion to you, do not put confusing arguments and ask other person to clarify your confusion. I am not a brain doctor:-)
Second thing, do not put your personal experience implying other person has zero experience and qualifications and you are the only one who knows it and so eveyone should buy your menial arguments!!
Let me answer you, I am an ANGUTHA CHAP person, person with no real aptitude, analytical skills, no traveling experience, never been to Manebhanjyang and now know where Wolangchugola is, have not seen the peak of Pathivara, never bean to Bara, Nijgad, Never spent my professional life in Mujelia, Janakpur, or Never worked any projects in Rajbiraj, Never saw sunshine of Rara Tal of Mugu, never shopped in Rupadhiya (west) or Birgunj (east market), never cross sunaili (bhairahawa) boarder, never tried to learn maithli or bhojpuri, never been to rumjatar of wokhal dhunga and never been to sankhuwashaba and bhojpur, no nothing about what is heart of kathmandu so on…so basically I have done nothing and been no where! Now this should make you happy!
What I am trying to say is after these Tarai parties with regional politics, definitely it is hard to work in Tarai than before but it doesn't mean people are not staying in Tarai, it will take time to neutralize.
Give me how it will neutralize when your state minister comes and fuels the fire? Do you know what happened to bhanubhakta statue? Do you have any familes in terai belt and kind of terror they live in Terai? And they are dwindling every day! Just going back to 10 years story and bringing back here in US to justigy what? Make no sense to me! Like you, I do not bring I myself to justify here! FACT is what I talk.!
Regarding Limbuwan somewhere, it would never happen anything there because even they don't have good friends like Tarian who think India can be friend. (So you know limuwan will never happen because they do not have friend like India, that are you implying and agreeing India is behind terai –then why do you ask me ? Cultural, and “ ethnic” separation is dangerous brother-learn from world history, from US black history, to Africa, from bosnia to sudan..it just need common sense!
Regarding separation, you are trying to say we will be indirectely dictected by India, not directly by separtion. Please be honest with you, are you in the independent nation?? .
You ask yourself are we any independent nation? What is the degree of independency you tell me? Ask yourself was 12 point agreement was anyway close to independency? Who got a benefit from? There are many words “colonialism” “ Hegemony” “ annexation” (certainly not annexed as of now) first you google it and identify if we are in any of these stage- if you find so we are not an independent nation!!
Our leaders from congress to Maoist, from King to rajabadi , can they survive without Indian blessing. No, you have known that fact. Girjia had donated every rivers to India and now probably the Moaist turn to please the big neighbours. That is why I say, try to develop our nation and make it properous with good relation with India and one day,
Only one person in our modern history who played and won with India were the kings-Mahendra and his battle to get Nepal UN recognition and Birendra who battled with when rajib Gandhi put sanction. Political party leaders failed miserably. Everyone know what Girja did and how we should deal with India it depends on the leadership skills, in a country where defense minister threatens sovereignty of his own country, and PM quietly to appease without punishing, and if you expect such people can handle the foreign policy then you are dead wrong!! Where in earth in any democratic society a defense minister can get away with such things?
Indian will look us with respectful eyes, if not people like you will be shouting here in USA and we will be Bahadur forever. I won't want to comment Pulandidi because she is so hard liner that she think Babu Ram is only one who will donate Nepal to India and rest all are fine. What had Girija done, what had Madav done and what would be different Babu Ram is doing. He is another guy who is the same path what his old friends Girija and Madav and King?? Common guys wake up, don't make people fool, people are not equally educated and read my previous comments.
You are being a big fool, if king gyanendra had agreed buy weapons from India, had voted India for permanent member of security council, had accepted afganisthan (Pro Indian regime) and had not asked China to become member of SAARC he would have still be king ? Gyanendra that is why not pro Indian by any political! Do you get it? You better wake up!!
Happy Dashain. Too!

nepali laure I like your optimism! but you know 5/6 years ago, if we get rid of kind and CA -we were told we would be fine.
we are told, if make interim constitution- we will be fine.
we are told we will make new constitution within two years-we will be fine.
we are told give us one more year of extension-we will be fine.
then we are told give us some months and god know how many months -we will be fine..
now you are telling the same story, federalism, people's representation, etc..we would be fine..
just do some analysis and see where the graph is heading to!
just ask yourself, was war soverignity is better before or now? were we united back then or now? is our law order and security situation was better then or now? people fleeing educated or non educated back then better or now? how many infrastructre projects we completed before 46 in (20 years span) and after 46 in (20 years span) now? and so on! it is good be optimistic but before that one need to realistic! if you only be real then only you can achieve real goals it is simple!!
About federelism- well there are many articles written and the agenda is questioned by many experts and development scholars, including many large sect of political parties, including CHITRA BDR KC and Narayan Man Bijukche..let's exculde Kamal Thapa!!

Shantipriya,
You are comparing before and after 46. You know very few people would like to have an autocratic family rule in Nepal like before 2046, even Kamal Thapa is advocating for a Constitutional Monarchy. If you go back to 2046, some people would say, why 2046? why not go back to 2036, as many people recall how panchayat won the 36 election.
If i can, i want to go back to the Friday a Decade ago when Durbar Massacre happened, and stay there forever, i mean politically. That is an unsolved incident which many people suspect a foreign power (India) had a major role to play as a mastermind (?). So, at least I wont be ready to accept Gynandra is more patriot as you have mentioned in your earlier post unless we get negative test result on the involvement of foreign power and the people inside the palace.
Is Federalism good or bad for a country like Nepal is a very normative question, i agree that we never reach to a conclusion on this issue. But, since we already have a constituent assembly that will hopefully give a constitution with a federal structure , I believe there is enough room to be optimistic that federalism will make the country stronger given the representation of people from all the regions. If you fail to give your citizen a hope that Kathmandu is there in your need, then they may try to look for an alternative.

Do not teach us about the terai. I was born in Terai and raised untill I was 20. I know what is the real problem of teraibasi madhise which lies within themselves. I even know better than you how terai is getting more populated year by year. So, better not show your knowledge about terai.

This is absolutely true, King was far more Nepali than any other leaders we have had or have.
These people are fighting for their chairs by selling their own mother land. King G just left with pride and dignity and with a smile.

Govt set to pardon Maoist lawmaker Dhungel
KATHMANDU, OCT 02 - Notwithstanding the intense criticism over its plan to withdraw court cases filed during insurgency and Madhes movement, the government on Sunday decided to provide amnesty to Maoist lawmaker Bal Krishna Dhungel.
The Supreme Court has slapped Dhungel with life imprisonment, along with confiscation of entire property, implicating him in the murder of one Ujjwal Prasad Shrestha in Okhldhunga district seven years ago during the armed-insurgency.
The Cabinet meeting has decided to send recommendation letter to President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav later today to grant amnesty to Dhungel, sources said. The government has declared that the case filed against Dhungel was of a political nature.
The ruling coalition partners—Maoists and the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha—had signed a four-point deal, which, among other things, commits to withdraw cases and grant amnesty to cadres of the two parties in the coalition who have been charged with crimes committed during the Maoist insurgency and the Madhes movement.
Rights defenders, including the OHCHR, have been saying that though the government has the authority to withdraw cases and grant amnesty, it cannot do so in cases involving serious crimes, which according to international laws, have universal jurisdiction.
However, this is not the first time the government is attempting to withdraw such cases following the establishment of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal after the abolition of monarchy.

I don't think I dislike anyone more than Maoists or Maoist supporters. Prachanda should be incriminated for the mass killings of over 15 thousand people. What really disgusts me is the fact that the loon is residing in the neighborhood I grew up in.
