Note: Please respect everyone's comment and discuss like civil gentlemen/women (with good paragraph breaks, full stops, etcetera). Also lets keep the personal attacks to a minimum ok? GO.

My opinion but I think these Muslim ppl behind building the mosque are taking advantage of their liberties. This isn't their land, and especially with what happened on 9/11/2001, they should at the very least acknowledge that maybe it wouldn't hurt to shift the mosque a couple of hundred miles away from Ground Zero.

Why are they so adamant about building it right next to the damn site? And also they are trying to coincide the launch of the mosque to 9/11/2010? Of all 365 days they want to deliberately choose this date.

This will obviously enrage the Americans!

First the twin towers are razed to the ground in one horrific event.
Now they want to build a mosque smack right in front of where the towers used to be (2 blocks away).
And on top of that they want the date to coincide with the day the towers were attacked.
This kinda reminds me of Ayodhaya with the mosque/temple conflict.
These guys are so bent on stamping their presence all over the world, in the most controversial of places. I wonder how they would feel if someone went over to Mecca and proposed to build a church right across the street from it.

Let us hear what you have to say. Looking forward for some interesting debates from the opposition.

Rewire, this is a country based on Laws not on Polls.  60% opposition does not means they don’t have right to build it, Laws are the laws if you like it or not.  Personally I would have liked to see the Mosque build some where like at Queens where there are more Muslims, but that is just my openion.

I get what you're saying, but I disagree. Our priorities as a Nepali should be basic food, water and stable government and not analyzing American propaganda. Anything can happen, but far fetched possibilities are foolishness. That's what I believe, you can disagree. And I'm sorry I did not read the Nepali text, what is "Khaati"? to begin with.
Jonny
Laws are written for the people, by the people, it can be changed with time. Amendment of constitution is not a new thing in their history. Their forefather wrote the Constitution few hundred years back with idea solely idea based on Judeo-Christian values. Time has changed now, some aspects of Constitution does not (will not) make sense now and are useless. It needs to be changed for the protection of their own. I have no problem if they build a third party's religious institution like a Buddhist monk, Hindu or Bahai'i Temple to symbolise a new beginning and peace. But this? Offensive. It is simply liberal Muslims muscling power and politics using liberal Americans as a bait in the name of freedom of religion.

Our priorities as a Nepali should be basic food, water and stable government and not analyzing American propaganda.

Are these all a Nepali is worth living for? How can you even just enumerate every single Nepalese need to just three points? It's plain offensive to all Nepalese.
Nepalese should rather hold themselves in high esteem without being arrogant. We should be judged based on what we are able to achieve as individuals and the content of our characters and we should not believe that we are inferior to anyone else.

In the context of this thread, every Nepalese is entitled to voice his/her sensible opinion and I do not see Nepal's national interest at risk for discussing this topic.

You can have your own opinion and I have my own. But have some tolerance to what others believe in; please don't impose your belief in others.

I beg to differ on your hypocrisy regarding your label on 'American propaganda'. We live in this land of freedom; I don't know about you, but I look forward to live here. Anything that happens here affects us if you see this as a far fetched foolishness, I've nothing more to say.

Our priorities as a Nepali should be basic foodwater and stable government
-> Can you please not include me in your definition of NEPALI? I beg to differ again about the priorities, and please stop reiterating what I SHOULD BE doing. You have no right to dictate what every Nepali's priorities should be.

I don't know where you are going, so please my humble apologies if I offended you.
As some people predicted, Obama administration has granted more then 150 million for the flood in Pakistan. How irony that the deficit is in trillions, unemploymenmt is rampant, people are jobless and yet the money goes to the nation that hates America the most. For what? No wonder, the tea pary is getting such a momentum.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/08/19/pakistan.floods/index.html?hpt=T2
As soon as these Pakis dry up and get some food, they'll chant "Death to America" and head back to their Madrasa to study "how to hate America".
Sorry if it is bit out of the context...yet Muslim is involved.

Rewire,
Your last post can't get more cynical than that. How can you equate such benevolent activity at the time of a great disaster with skepticism. Just because America has deficit doesn't mean that it shouldn't be helping countries in distress.I am glad you didn't mention Pakistan brought the disaster upon themselves, just to get charity. It was a very skewed logic on your part.  Now go ahead and tag your post, it would include- Pakistan, Obama, Tea Party, Madarasa, Muslim etc. Wow! that's a perfect recipe of shitstorm!

Rewire,
First, let's make sure now that priorities of every Nepali has changed now since the great leader Rewire now writes we should worry about america's deficit budget and where it donates to before thinking about food, water, and stable government in Nepal. Is that right?
Priorities you wrote for every Nepali doesn't apply to you, huh? Let's first be honest with what you said or at least say that what you wrote about nepali's priorities and what nepali SHOULD think or do has changed.

As far as what you wrote about US donating Pakistan, let's say, god forbids anything happens in Nepal, but it happened and the US newspaper wrote what Nepali's political ideology is about. More than half of the country is communist and 40% voted for hardcore communists (maoists) who thinks Nepal should follow the ideology of great Kim Sung Il or whatever his name is of North Korea. According to your logic, should americans donate to the benefit of communists?
Another fact about Nepal: many of nepalese hates India and India knows about it and prints it regularly. According to your logic, Indians should not help any nepalese at all and let them suffer because nepalese hate them; is that what you're saying?

Jonny and Bhut
When you yourself is starving, who in the right mind gives away the food to
the person next? Let alone someone who has the track records of hating
you (will slit your throat when turn your back). Simple principle of
life. Feed your damn people first and when you have some leftover, then
think about charities. Isn't that the reality of life? or am I too naive
to understand. Pakistan is the mecca of insurgents, militia and the
training ground of Islamic terrorists of various group from all over the
world. The central government is weak, corrupt and unstable, unable to
provide security to their people against the insurgents and their
hatred-breeding institutions.

I absolutely believe America should not help Pakistan at all, call me
anything you want. It's my personal opinion, you don't have to agree.
Where all those filthy rich Arabic “Islamic-Brotherhood" nations when
people of their faith need them the most? They seem to pour money only
if it involves killing non-Muslims (aka infidels).

Coming back to ground-zero, I have said again and again with my reasoning that I do not prefer the mosque. Legally, my opinion might not have
any ground, but it will attract a lots of resources and problem in the
future, socially and politically, let us see. Ethically, it is wrong.

I’m not enforcing my view on anybody (which some of you seem to have a hard time understanding), I’m simply expressing it. You express yours, who's stopping you?
With that, I'll leave you all in peace. Thanks for your participation.
Jai Nepal.

Rewire. You lost all ur credibility with that statement about what Nepalis priorities should be and shouldn't be. I really expected more than that from u. U r now arguing for the sake of arguing. And ur comments about not helping pakistan...too much Fox news.

I have not read this whole forum, however here are my 2 cents -

Entire Manhattan should be made into no-Mosque zone (new construction). This fuuk is sponsored by Saudi's, and these saud's and their religious teaching/principles were the main culprit of 9/11 - bottom line.
Now coming to the point - if you ll dummy's aren't aware of; forget about building any church/temple in middle-east.. it's illegal to bring any religious books/item (bibe, Geeta or anything) within these countries.

With that said, any of you pussy/bitches fccukk out here who wants this fccuk shit to be build in Manhattan -their cock must be cut, converted to [Disallowed String for - bad word]alman and throw in arab desert.

This is kind of a topic where we can debate as much as we can but nobody can give a proper and legitimate answer.Since everybody is dropping their two cents so here's mine...

I think building a Mosque near to Ground Zero would not be a nice idea because that will make the things more worst and the relation of Islam and Americans would be more cold. Call me an Skeptic but believe it or not this is not our country and neither do Muslims own this country. No matter even if you are born and raised up here but still you have an immigrant behavior. Americans will never accept you as their citizens even though you're allowed to vote.

Let me ask to my fellow Nepalese, though i haven't read a constitution of our country but do you think Nepalese government will allow to open a Mosque or a Church near to Pashupati temple or at the Buttom of Swayambhunath Temple. Hell no?? Because that's our country and no matter how liberal we are but we won't allow anybody to interfere in our religious activities. Exactly the same thing with Americans too. 9/11 took thousands of lives of Americans and they will never forget that it was not my Terrorist? However all Muslims are not Terrorist but majority of Terrorist are Muslims, let's not forget that.

At the same time i don't understand why there Muslim community is trying to be the pain in the a** of Americans. Out of all the 52 states and so many places why they have to open a Mosque at the same place, Out of 365 days why they have to start it on the very day 9/11 which was the worst day in American History.

I think to some extent Muslims are also trying to make things harder. If they think that Americans will scared with them and let them do anything, than they're wrong. American Government is so stubborn that they will never let them do what Muslims want? Why do you think American Government is fighting with them from more than a decade. During the reign of Clinton, Bush and now Obama, have they stopped sending troop of Iraq and Afghanistan, No? That's the example of how extreme can the American Government can be. They'll spent their whole budget but they'll not let the Terrorist win the battle.

P.S. This is just my two cents, if anybody agree or disagree with my opinion they're most definitely welcome to debate with some legitimate reason but please don't start any argument with some bullshit reason and foul languages. Thanks,...

khamthapa,

this country was founded on religious freedom so why are you even comparing middle east to AMERICA?

saudi exports cheap oil to the US, thus making gas $3 instead of $8 (Belgium and closely followed by most of europe). aren't we the ones demanding that oil? so who is really funding the Saudis?

guess what, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud of
Saudi Arabia holds 7% of new corps aka FOX. You need to know that elites of america has close ties to the elites of saudi. so be careful whenever you try to blame everything on saudis.

instead of focusing on this issue, why don't we focus on removing US military bases (mainly germany and japan) from around the world which aren't accepted by the population by the native country!

khamthapa, i'm not an arab ass kisser but just a regular person who has common sense. nope, my sister and my mom was fortunate enough not to join your mom and your sister to their voyage to make money to feed YOU. btw, prostitutes are people too! its a job done in order to feed their loved ones. its a sad situation but nonetheless its a way to bring food to the table.

this is the eternal rule.

I know it's none of my business but khamthapa and shaKEEn, my sincere apology to both of you for coming in the middle of your clash but i want to request you one thing. Why are you bringing each others mother and sister in your argument. What's their fault and what have they done. You're acting like a 10 yr old kid here. What do you get from this fight and what do you gain by accusing each other?? It's just a forum where we pour our views.

shaKEEn, since you said such a nice quote about Buddha, so i am sure you are old enough to know the consequences of Hatred, so just leave your anger and keep quite and start posting some other things that's not related to khamthapa. Peace guys :-)
