A lot of people say that in the long run, hard work wins over luck. I know that I haven't lived long enough to prove or disprove it. But, from what I see so far, luck has been winning the battle.  I  have come across a bunch of people  who are  very very hardworking but  are not doing as well as the "lucky" ones. By "doing well" I mean financially, socially, physically, spiritually, etc...  Is there a rational explanation for this? Does your being born at a particular time make you luckier than being born at a different time?

I consider myself very lucky and hope that my luck will not run out on me. :)

Delta, blaming luck all the time is what peeps who don't know the struggle behind someone else's current happy days would say.  They label someone successful as being lucky.  C'mon, see what goes into someone getting a break (its that they worked smart instead of just working hard only...Notice that they did both).  As I always say to those who talk to me as though I'm at my job because of luck (as these morons think they're smarter since they did better in academics than me in high school (??) years ago), "Luck is what happens when PREPARATION meets opportunity!!"

Even for hard working, u need luck. People willing for hard working (and they may capable too) if no luck, can not utilize their tanlent. Eauta garib le jati sukai mehenat garera pade pani unless he is lucky to get scholorship, he can not become doctor or engineer (that's what usually it is). If u are hard working, your level will be different than lazy guys, but still u need luck among the hard working guys.

अर्थात कसरी नाप्ने त?
नपाई चाँही सबैको आ-आफ्नै हुन्छ। Soley depend upon person to person, his/her social, intellectual ,financial status etc.

तेसैले भनेका छन " भाग्य छ भन्दैमा दोकामा दुध दुहेर अड्दैन"
बिना परिश्रम भाग्य जाग्दैन। यि एक आर्का का पुरक हुन।

I know one lad who got undergraduate degree in computer science from Nepal with over 78%, winner of DV. He chose to work in gas station, he was lucky to win the DV which is the result of his effort to apply DV. Now, is he unlucky?? No he did not pursue further, He could not cash his luck, he would have laborious would have change his luck to second step. You decide yourself what is it.
