Hey fellas!

I was wondering if it is possible for one to enroll in a phd program in Nepal (Tribhuvan or kathmandu university) and work on the thesis staying here in the US. Consider that the applicant has done his Master's in the same field from a top US school and is pursuing full-time employment in the US. The program I am interested in is Phd in economics/finance. To cut the story short, what I'm basically asking is whether it's possible to complete a phd degree from Nepal without attending classes in Nepal. I'd off course be willing to go to Nepal to enroll, present my thesis proposal to the faculty and take any tests that might be required. Has anyone been through this or does anyone know somebody else who has been through this? I'd appreciate your insights.
