If you are still in legal status in the US, I advice you to go for p. hd. in statistics. If you have at least 60% in master from TU, evaluate your transcript at one of the foreign service transcript evaluation center and apply for p .hd. then you will very certainly qualify for some sort of financial support. That is the best option.

No problem, yes it is possible but you need to take GRE. this is very simple and straight forward. Even you apply for phd, you always have to go through  some Master courses first and then you have to pass qualifying exams and then you will be phd candiate. it depends on you how long it is going to take to finish phd. The good part is if you do good, university will support you financially through out your phd career. I am expecting p hd admission in statistics with full financial support offer with in this week.

Pangre,

Master yourself in bunch of statistical softwares such as SAS, R, Statistica. Best would be to get certified.
I believe, you can do it within same time frame as it is required to master GRE. Why hassle much, when you have a green card.

PS: I m glad you want to do something great rather than counting breads (roti) at which most of our opportune nepali folks are lost.

Gud luck!

Pangre,
If ur intention is to:
1. do PhD, follow Himal25
2. apply for short cut to get some industrial certificates and land at some jobs then follow Narayangarh for a time being. After 1-2 years u could check the market, ur family, and so on.
