great future I think, with MSC in Stat.. you could probably land Bio-Statistician (Bio-Informatics)  jobs easily.

And these are well paid too... so go ahead dude.

Masters in Applied Mathematics with Statistics as major is very good one dude.

Try to study Statistical Analysis Software(SAS) as one of the subject during your course. You will get very good work as a statistician in the insurance companies also.

Entry Requirements

Bachelor degree with statistics major from a recognised university. If an applicant's background in statistics, mathematics or computing is inadequate, satisfactory completion of a qualifying program will be required before admission to the Masters course.

.A Master's in Statistics and Data Analysis is a great degree to have if you are looking for a good job. I am doing Applied Economics with Data Analysis concentration, and from what my professors tell me, this and Master's in Statistical Analysis have a good job market right now. Starting salary is around $50k-$70 k. However, international students may find it a little difficult to get a job immediately.

This is a very marketable degree. A good analytical skills is useful in any job! Statistics alone is fine, but I would suggest you to combine statistics with something else too, for example with bio, physics, finance, economics--whatever your next best interest is. That definitely is worth time and money!

If you have interest in finance and/or economics and are more ambitious, you can try taking actuarial exams. This could land you to some great jobs with very good $$$.

With a MS in Statistics, go for a Ph.D in economics...You'd be the hero of the econometrics class.  You'd surely have all the dumfugcks there give you a stare as though Einstein just graced them with his presence.

On a more serious note, if you've had financial classes (especially Options), apply for trading positions or trading strategists roles at IBs (example: quants).  Don't go for the prop shops as you'd end up regretting, just stick to aiming for the hedge-funds and major IBs out there.  You'd get an above average decent starting salary with a MS in Stats.  When you do find a job, Send me your first bonus for helping you make the BIG bucks!
