I have just formatted my computer, everything is running good but no sound at all. Anyone who has idea to restore sound system, please help me. Operating system is window Xp.

What is the computer name and the model?? You may have driver problem, Try to visit the website of the company you laptop is from and download the Audio and chipset driver from there.

gurudev, my computer initially takes long time to start but after it starts it operates normally and is quite fast what might be the initial problem?

After the windows is started and you have logged on. Press Start --> Run Type: msconfig Here you can see what files and services that are loading while your windows starts / boots. You can select and unselect some files and services that are not too impotent for your operating system. If needed them later, you can start them manually. (If you know how??) PS: This only works in XP.

Gerudev, thanks Yes I know how to enable and disable the programs but I don’t know which are important and which are not, here I give you a list of items enabled as I start the computer. Remember also to see which Services are enabled, Few services does not need to start. Search the google to find what service does what. gurudev, sorry to bother u again but in the system confirmation utility as i go to startup, i only have two options either to enable all or disable all, i cant do selective diasble how can i do a selective enabling or disabling i know in the general (under system confirmation utility) there is normal, diagnostic and selective startup but i am afraid to use those thanks

Just uncheck those service that you do not Want them to Start. As Shown in the picture below. If you completely want to delete them then you will need to: Start-> Run "regedit" "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Morcosoft-> Windows-> Currentversion->Run" Delete the files from here. WARNING: Do not Mess things here, coz then you may have to re-install your windows, unless you have taken a System state buckup, through Start-> run "ntbackup" Good luck....
