Most people get a traffic ticket, pay it online or by mail, and just accept it without thinking much. In Maryland, if you’ve paid a ticket, that payment counts as an admission of guilt. However, after a certain period, you can request to have that admission of guilt removed from your record if you're in good standing. To do this, it’s a good idea to hire a lawyer who can help you with the process. This way, it won’t show up in background checks, like for immigration purposes. Someday, those records might resurface.
In Maryland, under Transportation Article §16-402, you can ask the court to remove a ticket from your record after six months if you're in good standing.
