I am planning to learn swift. I heard IOS developers are required to learn it. I have idea about java. Are these language are linked together? What is really big topics to look into while learning swift?

Swift and Java are completely different. If you know Objective C from apple, then it is somehow similar, but different. There are free courses online on Swift.
