Hi folks will be graduating in summer in Masters in civil engineering . I'm thinking if I couldn't land up in my degree relateted job may be trying out in a indian consultancy and going for some IT related work. Also I am bit interested in Programming. I would be grateful to you if you could suggest some programming language so that I can start learning so that it would be helpful if I would actually go the शरण of those consultancy ? I have some working knowledge in Visual basic, and MATLAB. am confused whether to learn C# (.net) or java . which one do u suggest for non IT major. Thanks,

Graduating with an engineering degree suggests you are a mathematically inclined student. Also, since you are interested in programming you should starting learning java ASAP. Learning RDBMS concepts would be a nice touch too.

hi sikaru, i am in same situation..i am graduating this month with degree in construction engineering but i dont see any job coming my way...i am thinking of going to consultancy for RDBMS training...my IT knowledge is null... god bless me...

Just curious, does JAVA training by itself would be good enough to land a job? Of course, i m talking about taking semo desi route...
