As Kids and young adults and even now-a-days we use words like,

Bidhyanasta yaar....maile gareko hoina..

Amma kaasam malai thaha chhaina......

Amma ragat mero cycle hoina yaar......

Thinking about how we used to word these phrases...LOL and habits like touching your head and chest again and again while crosing a river in the school bus. If anyone touched your neck you had to blow(phoooo) the hand....lol the myth of a golgaad.... if you stomp anyones leg you had to Dhog that person...while passing a small round the corner temple......we had to ring the bell put tika n circle the temple once.  every time the evening light was turned on .......we kinda touch our head and then chest like to worship. and many more things we all do as a comon Nepali habit...Its not taught........but we all did it...our pyaro Nepali ways.

Bachhi maru -- is really funny.
Even though some one lost money - then whoever finds it says - bachhi maru(aadhi chhaina). and keep all, if he forgets to say bachhi maru and someone says bachhai - then he has to give that person half the money -  haha

Nightbus ko samjhana:

Oh yes, MD bro, riding nightbuses was my favorite too.  Once I rode my cycle all the way up to Naagdhunga (Thankot) just to spend few hours looking down at the serpentine roads with ant-like vehicles riding upon it.

I loved the hustle-bustle at the bus park.  My favorites were Dantakali Super Express (to Dharan) or Simrik (to Kaakkarvitta).  Once all the passengers are aboard, I used to feel like they are all part of my family, at least for that night, especially during right before Dashain when everybody seemed to be in jovial mood.  Even if I am not asleep in my seat, I used to love listening to people around.  Their talks were entertainment enough.

But, more often than not, I used to get motion sickness.  So when the bus stopped at Mugling for dinner, usually at around 8:30pm, the cool breeze there used to be so refreshing that I would immediately become ravenous.  Of course, the Mugling dinner is famous for being delicious, but I wonder if it was only in our heads.

The next stop would be Hetauda where we would wake up to "poleko makai" vendors.    Of course, the perennial fear of Pathlaiyaa ko jungle.  And then at dawn, I always used to count the barrage doors at Koshi bridge.  The rising golden sun was always a sight to behold.

Itahari ma yeso chiyaa khayera, 7:30 am ma ta Dharan ko Bhanu Chowk.  Rikshaw-walla haruly bag taanataan garera hairan.  We would be so happy.

Wow Riten Bro.....you poured your heart out on this one here........yup Night Bus...what an experience.

On my Trips to Darjeeling to study ......we took the Nightbus and My Dad normally got the Cabin with the driver and as a Kid use to love to watch the road and the lights hitting the roads and the surrounding. Occasional shops and houses on the side road....I used to wonder who lived there???? I tried so hard to a see and tigers or deer while pasing through the jungle......The other thing I loved was to see the communication of the cars, trucks ,jeeps and busses when the were passing each other.......They used their blinkers as if to say HELLOW.....AND BYE.

I remember the many kinds  conversation of the Driver and the conductor had.......it went like this

"Guru Ji.....Tyo ba aa cha  sora sattatar(1677) ko draivar chha ni........Harke Guru kya.......uh aasti Galchhi ko phedi ghum ma taxi lai hane chha.........ani Harke Guru ta Pharar."

Guru Ji tyo ahle barkhar paas hune truck ko draivar...patlaya ko Maila dai jasto chha....

Oi Krishne agaadi chameli ko pasal aaudai chha ........tya sithi laga hai.....and then The long horn PAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAP and whistle along with the conductor half body outside the bus banging the door.......and then Silence....and he shuts the door and both of them  smiles. LOL
