whoever created this thread is beside himself--may be he thinks that he had hit the nail on the head. Dont have other works to do, first of all change yourself, your mentality, it seems like his stupidity had kept himself in the dark about the true state of affairs of Nepal.

ok.. this flag of nepal was used after jung bahadur became Shree teen maharaj. Originally the flag of nepal was the flag of the king (shree panch), which is the upper triangle with the crecent and sun. The flag of the shree teen was the lower triangle with the sun. Once the wedding was confirmed of the daughter of King Surendra and son of Jung Bahadur, they also decided that the flag be joined to make one flag that represents the family and the country. Thus the new flag with double triangle was born. so, if the national anthem is changed citing to remove the King's rule, then the flag should also be changed. However, my stance is with the monarchy so, do not change the flag and the national anthem.

History of Nepali Flag: It represents Rana and Shah Dynesty not Nepall and Nepali!
******************************************************************
Meaning of the Flag:
The flag of Nepal is the only national flag which is not rectangular, being based upon two separate pennants which belonged to rival branches of the Rana dynasty, which formerly ruled the country. The two pennants were first joined in the last century, but it was not adopted as the official flag until 1962, when a constitutional form of government was established.
The moon in the upper part represents the royal house. The sun in the lower part symbolizes a branch of the Rana family, members of which acted as prime ministers until 1961.

The charges are now said to represent the hope that Nepal itself will last as long as the sun and the moon. The style of these heavenly bodies was streamlined on December 16, 1962. The coat of arms still portrays these charges with facial features. Crimson is deemed the national color.

Motto on their coat of arms: "The mother and the Mother Earth are more important than the heavenly kingdom

Dear kalekrishna,
Read the history of Nepali flag. You might love it's shape but its history.........? do you love Rana and Shahs dynesty in your national flag or nepali soil and nepali people????

I like its uniqueness and the pride that comes with it, I like the symbolism and its association with the soil and its people. I like the sort of unity among otherwise leg-pulling and discriminating Nepalese, I saw as a child associated with it, and still feel the same.
ABC, you r right, when u say if I knew the history behind it, nor interested to go in details to analyse if my adoring was morally or politically right.
Respecting your views, in that line there is much more to clean before we start linking everything else besides ourselves for failures in the past. However, what and how can you relate my symbol loving to institutions and individuals, and how will that detach me from my roots?

Some people are just sold for an idea, any idea. The consequence does not matter to them or just dont care.
Why wait even for even 100k people let GPKs, SPAs and the maos decide for Nepal?
-GPK will be happy with Indian flag (read the manifesto when Nepali Congress was established in Calcutta, prior to Indian democracy)
-SPAs will be happy when the symbols of their party flags are in national flag.
-Maobadis will be happy with, what? God knows..

abc AND OTHERS FLAG HATERS:
SYMBOLS CAN BE INTERPRETED HOW EVER U MAY LIKE...WATCH DAVINCI CODE OR READ IT!!!!
LET ME INTERPRET WHY NATIONAL FLAG IS LIKE THAT:I VIVIDLY REMEMBER
AS LONG AS THERE IS SUN AND MOON ,THERE WILL BE NEPAL.
RED IS THE COLOR OF BLOOD THAT NEPALI SAHID HAS GIVEN FOR THE COUNTRY.
BLUE IS THE SYMBOL OF WATER ,TRANQUILE AND PEACEFUL, THAT IS OUR MOTTO.
TRANGULAR SHAPES REPRESENT WE ARE HIMALAYAN KINGDOM(OOPS..COUNTRY)

it is the most unique flag in the world .not that all the flag are unique.ahahahah
i meant by shape.
