झापाली किन फटाहा हुन्छन र ? I still don't understand why they are soo called ?? Please can any one make me clear .

Jhapali maile bheteko ma kohe pani sojo chinan. aauta theyo shool tera jaile paisa jamma garna parne bela agadi serne aani tehe keta haru ko paisa ma mooj garne.afno paisa kahelai nanikalne.Jehos jhapali chai fataha nai hunchan.ma chai kahelai trust gardina jhapalilai. 

Ain't Jhapali are real Nepali..because you can see Pali sounds on each word..

I also used to hear something like what Syanjali has mentioned. Such kind of inferences must have some links to historical observations. Jhapalis being cleverer is understandable because, compared with the other folks who stayed in the hills, they were cleverer in the first place to realize the the benefits of migration. Also intermixing with the people of different decents and particularly an interaction with a relatively forward and educated community in Darjeeling must have helped them to be "smarter" in some sense. And, it'd be just a matter of few incidents of working together with ordinary hill folks that smartness would manifest itself in the form of cunningness, as is common in cases of smartness devoid of a corresponding ethical counterpart.

In general, I used to hear a lot about Purbeli and Paschhimeli, the former sometimes being considered  smarter than the latter. Of course, such generalizations were based on personal observations and do not appear to hold any more. Environment, hardships of survival and many other factors would probably contribute to a particular group being cleverer than the rest, and in the present context, it can be true that the (migrated) people in the plains generally outsmart ordinary people from villages in the hills.

I agree, Jhapali are selfish, wicked and heartbreaking sick bastards. I had one jhapali in my apartment, initially he was like a homeless, i found him apartment, found a job for him, everything... but that bastard made all of my roomie moved to another apartment leased by himself and din't give me a month notice either. this is why don't trust jhapali. f4ck hypocrites!

hahaha syanjali, how do you know about mattare? I have never heard anyone making a comment on "Mattare" before. I am from the very "mattar" but I have never been able to fool anyone till date.

i don't know about phata or what but 3 jhapalis didn't pay the rent living in our house and ran away so mum decided not to rent them anymore.

I was wondering who of my friends/acquaintance is/are from Jhapa.  I could think of only one.  He is very very very "chattu".  Kura-ma ta uuslai jitnai sakinna.  He used to be a politician back in Nepal.  Kangressi ho kyaara.  He is involved in Nepali politics in the US as well.  Chattu ko pani maha-chattu.

As far as I know, he has not harmed anyone.  He is actually a nice guy.  What's more, he is very entertaining.  Good to have in the parties.

One of my friends is from Syangja.  Bahun ho, tyo pani Syangja ko.  But he is is very very very sojho.

I hope this thread is here just for the sake of humor only, but not to take it seriously and stereotype people from Jhapa and Syanga. There are good people and not so good people everywhere, we just have to watch our back. Otherwise it be as absurd as saying all black people are bad or all asians are bad drivers.
