I have noticed that there is several thread people like leo_r, joshi have started and it’s about hate in Nepalese community based on caste.
How can we abolish hate based on caste? Healthy discussion only. Please do not use foul languages against any race, ethinicity or caste .Lets analyze the history and context? One of my suggestions is:
Encourage Enter caste marriages. Any others???

i don't take any pride of the fact that i belong to certain caste... but i am not ashamed either. it is just that thing i can't change.

You know what guys tell what racism you are talking about. Are you talking about the thread started by leo_r against the newars. You know everybody was up and against the thread against newars but nobody was saying anything about when thread against bahuns. I want to know why such mentality of pick and chose. And for Hiroshi if you want to spit at anyone spit at the admin, since he removed all thread aginst newars but not against bahun.

Newar people of kathmandu created CASTE systems in Nepal.

Newar created lower and high level caste parctices in kathmandu.

reallyyyy???? i thought bahuns whose ancestors had migrated from india "created" the caste system and obviously put themselves at the top of the hierarchy..duh!!

By nature human mind (in fact all species of animal kingdom) are discriminatory. Discrimination is as basic as figuring out the difference. If living creatures were not able to figure out the difference the lsurvival would not be possible. Discrimination is ingrained in the very basic survival instict of every living creature of animal kingdom.

Discrimination applies to every aspect of life so I dont belive it is unnatural to figure out the difference(or meaning being discriminatory).

Jayasthiti Malla (1380-1394) enforced and strengthned the casete system based on orthodox Hindu frame and classified the residents into 64 castes according to occupation. This was later reformed by Surendra Bikram in 1854.
