Hi all,
Do you have any good books in mind? I plan to read some good books during this christmas break since I have nothing else to do. I just finished reading "Purple Hibiscus" by this Nigerian writer and am about to start "Things fall apart" by Chinua Achebe who is also a very good Nigerian writer. I like to read books when someone else recommends it to me. So, your suggestions are highly welcome.

My ultimate book is "one hundred years of solitude " by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
A complete book of love and death, war and peace ,youth and age ,woven with beautiful words.

Dutchy... Dont read High fidelity... just watch the movie... John Cusack has done such a cute justice... and others can enjoy it with you! The misery that are men!

Thapap, I was not refering it to you yaar. Common! I was just making a random statement. Please refrain from understanding it was directed at you.

I am more novice in these kind of reading now than I was some 6-7 years ago, however I do manage to catch a book every now and then.

Good luck with you IS41C IS683. Indeed I know. It seems like a never ending journey eh'!
------

I strongly suggest to go for the book, "High Fidelity." instead of the movie. Rarely has any motion picture done justice to a beautiful book. This holds VERY true in this case as well.

Anyways, you guys have fun with all these books. Not my cuppa tea for now. However my then supervisor for some project once told me, "it's pity that I have only so much time left and they keep up coming with one beautiful book after another." Ofcourse he was refering that he will die before reading all of em'! I nodded.

Reading all those books was the last thing on my mind then. Things have not changed much since then, although i surprise myself every now and then.

Astu!
IndisGuise:)
