yea...
i applied in Xavier too and I did not get into..
I was lill frustrated, some of my friends were admitted, I felt sad...but I never took that as the Failure in Life. I kept doing my thing in another Nice coll. not Xav. and FYI Xav ka student have serious attitude problem, there was a point where I had to argue with them all the time but I never gave up...
They came here in US and I did too... after entering US their Xav attitude melted away after couple of months, and many of them are out of status now.
SO my point is it does not matter where u study xav, malpi, buda... or namuna...
infact i know someone who is professor in USA and he studied in a b c village school, and passed SLC in 3rd division.
well calm down broda your better days are probably ahead, just hold on to your hard work and faith. It will definitely take you to the better position, but again if u still have that XAvier and namuna discrimination it will be hard for you. My honest suggestion!

Kiran

I got my name listed in St Xaviers College and after studing for 1 month I came to realize that all boyz are Pakhe.....they donno anything except studies. ...Even In break-time,they talk about studies....Bookish.... I changed it to Vanasthali...where I learnt What is life and what is Value of Friendship?  Today I am in Far better Position than those BookWorm..Suckers.. and I am glad I won't regret What I didn't do in my College Life???

"Responsibility" is the key term here. In the US, you have to take care of yourself. There is nobody to spoon-feed you. You have to know what is right and what is wrong. Self-discipline is extremely important  if you want to succeed in this country.

This isn't a thread I would have commented on, but last night I had a dream about my school and it made me nostalgic, so I wanted to write...

This is an urban legend but is worth knowing about - "Harvard is mostly famous for one thing - the "Harvard Four Minute Rule." The "Harvard Four Minute Rule" refers to the fact that it takes, on average, four minutes, from the point of having been introduced to somebody (who happens to have graduated from Harvard) for that person to casually mention that he/she graduated from Harvard."

This kinda applies to people from these schools. People from Budhanilkantha and St. Xaviers end up being better at talking and ending up with lots of experiences that are exciting to share, probably because St Xaviers has so many eca's and Budhanilkantha is a boarding school. I have felt this when I hang out with a few friends from my school and people from outside - we just get caught up in talking about the stories in our schools usually while the others do not really seem to have engaging stories and hold back. I would say, on average, these schools produce better story-tellers, who can talk about a wide variety of things and not just women, drugs or fights.

I don't really know what I wanted to share up there. But hawas, to this reply,

"Who the FK cares about Whether you passed some St...Xaviers or not? Does anyone?? Live in Reality ...Child... I am Sure I Make Fking Double-Treble the money you make right now...So Who Won???Dumbass."

For your last two sentences before Dumbass, consider the first two questions in your reply above as my reply. IF you're someone who has to brag about making money, and make such a gross assumption on top, you still need to learn more about life. This might help. http://www.raptitude.com/2009/07/88-important-truths-ive-learned-about-life/

I know of one dai whose story is as such:

SLC >> Paropakar School (next to Bishnumati River in Kathmandu)
ISc and BSc >> Amrit Science College
MSc >> Some engineering school in India (under Columbo Plan scholarship)
PhD >> University of British Columbia, Canada

Now he is very successful entrepreneur in renewable energy technology field.

My point here is: it matters less which school you went to and more the person you are.

Regarding "Harvard 4 Minute Rule", I do know of one Nepali guy who is exactly like that.  Little do people know that it took him 12 years to finish his undergraduate degree.

to whom it may concern :

apologies from my side to those who is thinking i am discriminating people according to the school they went but if you guys closely go through my heading (unedited heading i would rather say unlike the comments of our hawas DAI ) i think i am regretting for my past deeds i.e to show attitude among the people who went comparatively less competitive school in Nepal.

@ hawas DAI: hajur ko ta k kuro garnu, harward chodera community jane manche tapai...tussi great ho, tofa kabool karo
