Although there is a sense of belief out there that Wall Street is getting more diverse in terms of its employees, I think it is a bunch of bull crap. Companies on the Street claim that they promote diversity but when it comes to hiring, especially for the good, coveted positions they want their Fu**K*EN white people. THese Managing directors and other F**Ck*ES think that only white people can do these jobs, when on the contrary a lot of qualified minorities can do those jobs with their eyes closed. These mofos think they have some sort of inherant right or privelege to always be a miles ahead of everyone. Mofos, raping the world for profit,,these gore haramis thirst for money can never be quenched. Unfortunately we have to go begging to these chutiaz to get good jobs. All these other IVY LEague mofos have this look on their face as if their shit doesn't stink or something. Overrated mujis. F**UC**K E*M!

You might be right M60...but Indians are all over the map...are you talking abou Nepali or any Immigrant in general?? I think it depends upon individual company and how broader its scope is...Usually International companies like Dell, HP, Intel, Microsoft etc have a huge minority representation....SMB i.e. small to mid-sized companies might have that problem.....Can you name the company u r referring to??

CO**CK**SU**CKER**S, Like Merill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, AllianceBernstein, MOrgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, yeah the Indians are all over the map but mostly in their IT side. If you look at INvestment Banking, Private client or equity research, sabbai sale gore haru bhaneko. Harami haru ko interviews are also condesending!

Oh...
I heard something like that..coz..one of my Friend just got laid-off from Merrill Lynch for no reason....he was hired on H1-B.....I hear you man....IT companies are usually good on these issues....financial companies...from what I know and heard are a little more reserved about hiring Immigrants......

yeah, lay offs are another major part of the Industry. There are plenty of jobs within these companies but all the good jobs are almost exclusively reserved for Harvard yuppies, at least it seems like that. Anyway the competition is insane man, even for people who are trying to switch jobs.

Well, last I checked, more than 90% of CEOs were Whites. There's definitely some sort of bias there. While it's true that Indians are the richest minority in America(if you look by ethnic group, it's actually Russians. Most Russians in America are Jewish...now I'm not trying to be anti-semitic here...this is just a fact), they're not bigwigs. Looks like there's more of a rich-poor divide among Whites if you ask me. How else can you explain the fact that Whites have lower average income than Indians? Indians are just in the middle of the pack it seems. Of course there are some Asian bigwigs out there as well, but if you look at most of these bigshots they're overwhelmingly white. That's the impression I'm getting.

Hmm, that's really interesting. Washington Post had this nice article a few weeks ago where they showed that ivy league graduates and somebody who went to some mediocre school ended up making about the same $$$$ in the long haul. The most important factor was motivation. I just think that ivy league grads find jobs more easily after they graduate, while other people just have to toil and foil. But after that these ivy league graduates need to prove themselves as well. That's where the playing field is leveled.

That is interesting, I wonder how accurate that study was. What I found puzzling over the years is that bloody Wall Street is this one place where being a top tier Ivy league Caliber graduate is almost paramount to landing in good companies and advancing your career. If you look at the Management profile of any major Financial Instituion over 90% is white and about 90% of them are all from top 10 business schools. In fact if you decide to further investigate nepotistic institutes like the World Bank and IMF, it gets even worse. People claim that oh Indians are all over the map, but these turmeric powder smelling mofos are in the bottom dwelling areas of IT and other crap.

Here's the deal, almost 60% of Indians go to college/university, while the number is much lower for Whites, and much much lower for Hispanics and Blacks. Because Indians tend to go to college, they of course make more money than, say, Whites, Blacks and Hispanics who don't go to college. That's where the big difference comes from. However, if you compare a White guy who went to college and an Indian who went to college I bet my bottom dollar that the White guy makes more money. There's a big bias there alright. The best thing to do is start your own business. That requires careful planning. I'm sick and tired of being somebody else's little b1tch.
I'll try to find the Washington Post article. What they did was this: they basically compared people who went to the ivy leauges and those who applied to the ivy leagues but weren't accepted. It turns out that both groups made about the same amount later on in life.
Here in the DC area, we also have the Washington Post radio. It's pretty new. They were saying that where you get your degree doesn't really matter.

IF YOU ARE NOT HIRED, THAT MEANS YOU ARE NOT A GOOD MATCH FOR THEM. MY BOSS IS A NON-AMERICAN AND IN THE TOP HIERARCHY OF THE COMPANY. IF HE WAS NOT GOOD, WHY WOULD THEY HIRE A NON_AMERICAN?

lootekukur, don't be so naive man. Although a lot of times one may not be a good match, if you have a strong reference or have been recommended by someone internally,you will get the job. People who get jobs through contacts and networking are not necessarily the right match, that is why there is such a high turnover in this Industry. Yeah your boss maybe a non white, ok the CEO of AMEX is a black guy, but how many other black CEO's are out there, a handful maybe. An exception doesn't make something a rule. Its like the NFL claiming to be very diverse in their hiring, just because they have a total of 5 black head coaches. I mean here is a sport that is 80% black, but 90% of the quarterbacks, head coaches and GM's are white.

well, have you ever tried to look upon how many blacks are educated enough for those kind of positions? If you look at the ratio of black to white population and then the educated blacks to educated whites, you will know what i am talking about.

WHose fault is that in the end? Who oppressed blacks for centuries? Face the facts, there are glass ceilings after a certain level. White people will always want to hold on to the power positions and Management.

17% of Harvard Students are Asians. 27% of MIT students are Asians. 25% of Stanford students are asians. Asians seem to go to good schools, but they're really not represented when it comes to these big jobs. It's all white, white, white.

well,
I am not saying there is no racial discriminations but then exceptions apart, I think there are quite a few big positions where minors have succeeded to reach to. At least over the past few years, the figures have shifted quite a bit towards the minority. The racial discrimination is a human nature and it is inevitable.

I work in the Industry, Wall Street is filled with corrupt and dishonest crooks. These Research Analysts are full of shit. Bankers make up numbers to bring in huge fees, its a canibalistic world mate..

Thugged out, I am aware of those figures and a vast number in that percentage are chinese and other non-english speaking nationals (Indians apart) whose English suck!!

I think you're wrong. I went to a top 20 school myself(I won't tell you which one), and most Asians I came across were American born.
