I have been student myself and have been working and supporting myself to be exact. It is always hard to meet the two ends when we are in foreign land; moreover when we can't find work or sometimes when we get sick, the life seems miserable. I had myself been through a accident while working in kitchen although not major one I had to stop working for a month or so and had gone through the great deal of misery. The financial crisis and health concerns both made it the lowest point of my life. I just went through this in another site and remembered my own misery. I cannot do much; but at least I can make this information available to more people!! And I thought why not make a difference, If any of you think the cause is genuine; Please donate!!

“In helping others, we shall help ourselves, for whatever good we give out completes the circle and comes back to us.”

The Nepalese Student Association at Troy University, Troy, Alabama needs your help to serve the accident victims.

Nine students in two separate accidents need your help.

The first accident took place on March 2, 2007 at Troy Highway where 4 students were injured. Their names are: Binod Dumre, Deepak Rathi, Nirmala Subedi and Rovshan Mirzayev . It’s very sad to know that Binod Dumre could not survive and after one week on March 9, 2007, he passed away. He had major injuries in the brain. The doctor kept him alive on life support for many days but on Friday they declared him brain dead. After he was declared brain dead, another doctor was consulted and some tests were again done to bring life back. But it did not work and we lost our friend. Deepak Rathi is out of danger but his lungs are affected because of the accident. He was also kept on a life support for 5 days. He is conscious and he can speak but he has so many questions with the accident, he wants to go home, he wants to see his family. Nirmala Subedi is still in intensive care and her situation is critical. She has blood clotting in her brain, her spinal cord is injured and the doctors are trying to wake her up to find the effect of the internal injuries. Rovshan Mirzayev was discharged from the hospital on March 11, 2007. He had some minor injuries and due to internal bleeding the doctors had to do surgery.

The Second accident took place on March 3, 2007 at Montgomery, the next day of the first accident when these 5 students were going to see their friends at hospital. These 5 people were: Santosh Onta, BalBinod Bhaila , Digambar Sharma, Sudhir Pokhrel, Ananda Pradhan.

In this accident Sudhir broke his hand, Ananda has some problems in his back, Santosh also broke his hands plus he had some injuries in his chest, BalBinod broke his ribs and Digambar was badly hurt. He has stitches on his head plus a fracture in hand.

These two accidents have made life difficult for them. They need to take care of themselves and side by side continue with their studies. They have financial problems. The students at Troy have health, but it will not nearly cover all the medical costs. These students are not financially capable to support all their expenses.

So, we request all of you to come forward and donate some money to help these accident victims. Your one dollar will make a difference in their lives. This fund is collected for a noble cause and we would appreciate any assistance that you are able to give to us.

Donations may be made to Nepalese Students Medical Benefit, Troy Bank and Trust Co., Troy, Alabama: Account # 062101031-64-2739-1. For further information email us at nsa@troy.eduThis email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it .

Thanking You
Nepal Student Association.

P.S.- San Dai- Can you please make this sticky subject so that everyone can see this!! :)

OK lets work together in this cause. We need an online presence for this cause. A simple web page would do.

Lets see how many of Sajhaites are genuinely concerned when in comes to real problems.

A paypal button would be more convenient for donors, for example:

hello Juggy,
well, it sure is a sticky topic. i am sure you will find plenty of people to donate but my one burning question i have is, these students that have been involved in accidents were they drunk, high on drugs or did the accident happen because of another drivers carelessness. i understand the pain and suffering these kids are going through but we need to also remember that when we come to this country we came holding high responsibility. all young nepalese students need to understand that just because they have the freedom they don't have the right to abuse that freedom.

we just cannot keep asking people to donate and how do we know that the money people are donating is going into a true cause.

hello sajhakohero,
i understand students have lots of financial problems. but every student that comes to states to study is working and making money. you all need to learn to manage your money. do not blow it on alcohol, smokes and girls. save it for a rainy day.

there is very little help one can give after all we are all in the same boat.

if i write on sajha.com and ask for money to pay my mortage and house bills will the sajha goodwishers help me.
