Ha ha Ha Capn' gotta keep urself informed. he he :-)
Body Hair Concerns Afflicts Real American Men

The Washington Post published a fresh feature on the state of male
grooming this week suggesting body hair awareness should be added to 'slack
gut, man-boobs, back fur and being regarded as a metrosexual' as issues
real men should now worry about.

"Guydom, manhood, it's all different now," Post columnist Neely Tucker
advised,

"Guys used to attract women with their confidence, muscle, power,
fearlessness. Now you've got to have a position on shoulder sprigs (hair)."

GQ columnist Glenn O'Brien agreed, declaring 'body hair is a major
category of what guys worry about, it's in the realm of 'What color socks
match my shoes and pants?' though (bearded) British DJ Very Very Very
Wrong Indeed promoter Tim Sheridan was not so sure.

"I think it's more of a gay/lady thing to give it any thought," Tim
claimed. "Personally I'm not very hairy on the body but it doesn't bother
me in other people of either gender."

Electro-rock-new rave DJ Joost Van Bellen told Skrufff he also doesn't
groom his body hair, explaining "I don't have much hair and it's
blonde.' though added 'pubic hair needs a cut nowadays,

"Having a goatee hanging underneath is disgusting."

The (happily gay-looking) Dutch star admitted, however, that he spends
plenty of time grooming his moustache, which he grew on the advice of
the Glimmers and Princess Superstar after wearing a fake one when
dressed as a pirate at Avenue D's Miami underwear party two years ago.

"My moustache is very reddish blonde, ginger as you may call it," said
Joost " So I have it coloured at the hairdressers and it I don't have
enough time I use mascara, a very dry one, otherwise I get into trouble
when I drink. I also trim it myself every couple of days, as I hate
moustaches that cover your upper lip, they're not chic."

Joost said his moustache means he gets more grief from customs and
immigration officials as well as teasing from girl clubbers 'disgusted by
it',

"When girls say they don't like my moustache, I tell them I don't like
theirs too. which helps, they all get very offended," he laughed, "My
Mum hates it too."

Tim Sheridan said the amount of time he devotes to his beard varies
('it depends entirely on the particular style one is sporting. A
"Huntsman" is fairly low maintenance but a "Dali" is constant preening') though
revealed it's become easier the longer he's had a beard..

"There are unguents and waxes and even little hairnets that you wear in
bed but a true 'grower' tends to find that after some years your facial
hair goes into shape of it's own accord," said Tim, "If I leave mine
untouched for a few weeks it tends to form a curly 'tache of its own
volition. I believe it's called "hirsute memory" in medical circles."

He also said, like Joost, his facial hair draws mixed reactions from
clubbers when he's out and about,

"It's like being in a wheelchair, some people are nice, some avoid you
and some come on like retards. Having a beard or 'tache is like having
X ray spex. You immediately get a fair impression of someone by their
reaction to you," he said.

"The best people tend not to appear to even notice. Some people, often
young girls, get a bit freaked out and ask "is it real?" As if I would
answer "No, I spend a couple of hours putting on an uncannily
convincing false moustache every day."

"I think there is a general body dysmorphia which is sadly an epidemic
these days," Tim concluded,

"Young women and gay men hate their bodies very subtly and are alarmed
by anyone who doesn't care or is too uncommon. They spend so much time,
money and energy on their own appearance and judging others it disturbs
them when confronted with an apparent freak," he suggested

Alabama Vibrator Ban Inspired By Rudolph Giuliani

The US senator who criminalised the sale of sex toys in Alabama nine
years ago defended himself this week, as the issue headed the US Supreme
Court,

"First thing Giuliani did when he cleaned up New York was close down
the sex shops," Senator Tom Butler pointed out, in his first comment on
the case since 1999. The Huntsville Times reported that if the Supreme
Court declines to review the law, then anyone selling a sex aid could
soon face up a year in jail, putting Alabama on a par with Georgia,
Texas, Nebraska,Virginia, Mississippi and Louisiana.

New York club promoter/ radio DJ Daniel Nardicio, who also runs gay
online network D-List, was unimpressed with the sex toy ban, as well as
the Senator's endorsement of ex New York mayor turned Presidential
hopeful Rudolph Giuliani.

"Giuliani should be shot. He was a shitty mayor with low popularity
until 9/11- he started this trend to just make New York City rich, and it
continues today," Daniel said.

"He also started the moral climate of going after bars' liquor licenses
for any infraction, thereby inciting fear into the hearts of all bar
owners. And don't get me started about the Cabaret Laws. I hate to say
it, and I'm gonna' get flack for saying it, but for the most part New
York is dead."

Daniel, who was previously involved in some of raunchiest underground
club events in the City said most sex parties now happen in private
apartments where tenants invite guests over and charge them admission.
.
"I love it here, and I will continue to stay for a few more years, but
really not much interesting is going on at the moment; it's gotten so
fu*king 'Sex In The City'," he continued.

"There seems to be less frighteningly interesting people in New York
these days. Look at Jayne County-she lost her apartment recently and
moved to Atlanta. And more and more people are moving to LA, as the endless
condo craze seems to be trying to stamp out any individuality here at
all," he complained.

Talking about hair, did you read that piece in the TKP a couple of days ago, about Nepalese men (finally!) dropping their moustaches? What the writer did not metion, and what I find interesting is the goatee has replaced the moustache as a sign of manhood in Nepal and elsewhere it seems :) But, no matter how much most men think it suits them, their goatees seemigly have the same impact on the opposite sex as their moustaches would :P :D Go figure! :)

This picture of a hog bigger than hogzilla from a couple of days ago:

In this photo released by Melynne Stone, Jamison Stone, 11, poses with a wild pig he killed near Delta, Ala., May 3, 2007. Stone's father says the hog weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. If claims of the animal's size are true, it would be larger than ``Hogzilla,'' the huge hog killed in Georgia in 2004. (AP Photo/Melynne Stone)

Who is entitled to the most vacation?

FINNS enjoy more paid statutory holiday every year than anyone else in the rich world, getting an average of 44 days off in which to relax (including annual leave and public holidays). Most European countries allow more than the EU legal minimum of four weeks. Even Britain, the most slave-driving, has an additional eight public holidays. And it's not just Europeans who laze about; Cubans get 36 days off. By contrast, Japanese employees get 18 days off a year. But American workers have perhaps the most to feel aggrieved about: theirs is the only rich-world country that does not give any statutory paid holiday. (In practice, most workers get around 14 days off.) All work and little play does provide some consolation, however—America and Japan are the world's biggest economies.

Man, I need a vacation! :)

I can never understand hunters mentality. What is so great about killing an animal using a gun? Anyone who can point and shoot can kill anything in front of them. Is the big deal in having a heart to kill another animal like that?

Also, hunting traditionally has been associated as a sign of masculinity which I think is the main appeal it carries - especially amongst younger folks and more so in rural cultural settings.

Just a thought.

Captaan sahib yeah if it was bare knuckle fights with animals to subdue them then that is a reason for pride and celebration. But shooting those dumb animals with a bullet and killing them? That's just plain cowardice.

Have a bad image online? Help is on the way! Here's a firm that helps it's customers clean up their images:

This
caveat after reading the article: it does come with a price tag and there are potential downsides but might be worth a shot if your situation so warrants. It seems effective in many cases.

• The News: Reputation-management services are trying to help clients downplay or remove negative Web information, in exchange for fees that can add up to hundreds of dollars.

• The Background: With employers increasingly checking Google, MySpace and other sites for information on prospective hires, people are becoming more concerned with how and where they appear in Web searches.

• The Pitfalls: Some targeted Web sites, which are protected by the First Amendment, have chosen to deny or mock requests to remove negative information, earning it even wider attention. Also, the reputation-management services are fighting a tide of Web sites that encourage users to offer opinions about other people.

"When you Google my name, it looks like I'm some kind of monster," she says.

Ms. Parascandola set out to minimize the bad publicity. She hired a company called ReputationDefender Inc. that promises to help individuals "search and destroy" negative information about them on the Internet. Businesses and others have long employed so-called search-engine-optimization techniques to try to make themselves appear higher in Web-search results. Now services like ReputationDefender and DefendMyName are charging fees that can run into hundreds of dollars to help clients remove or downplay unflattering online information.

The companies cite success stories of customers who have buried snippy blog comments, embarrassing photos or critical mentions of their names. But, as Ms. Parascandola found out, the services can't wipe everything off the Internet, and their efforts can backfire. ReputationDefender sent a letter to political blog Positive Liberty asking it to remove Ms. Parascandola's name from a critical entry on the grounds the post was "outdated and invasive." Blogger Jason Kuznicki refused, and posted a new entry mocking the request. He says he "had a good laugh over it."

Michael Fertik, a 28-year-old Harvard Law graduate who founded ReputationDefender in October, said misfires represent a "tiny percentage" of the company's efforts to fight the "permanent and public" nature of negative online content. For fees starting at $10 a month, the 10-person Louisville, Ky.-based company scours blogs, photo-sharing sites and social networks for information about a client, then charges $30 for each item the user instructs it to try to correct or remove. The service won't say how many customers it has.

He declined to say how many times ReputationDefender has succeeded in having content removed. He cited recent examples including a man whose ex-lover posted revealing photos to a Web site; an identity-theft victim who had his personal information published on a blog and a medical student who had discussed his own clinical depression in an old newsgroup that he didn't know was public. Mr. Fertik declined to identify those clients.

Janel Lee, a mortgage loan closer in Minong, Wis., sought ReputationDefender out after her ex-boyfriend began posting her work and cellphone numbers in response to several questions on Yahoo Answers, including "What is 50 Cent's phone number?"

She got 15 to 20 calls a day, sometimes as late as 3 a.m. One after-hours voicemail, presumably intended for the rapper, was a lengthy rap performance. "I sing blues, jazz and rock. This was painful," said Ms. Lee.

Ms. Lee said she contacted Yahoo Inc. directly but was unable to get most of the information taken down. So she paid ReputationDefender about $240 for a two-year membership, plus about $150 for the posts that the company, over three months, got removed. "It was quite a great relief knowing that someone was working on it for me," she said. Mr. Fertik said Yahoo removed the information after being contacted by ReputationDefender.
