Good news for three reasons (of decreasing importance)!!

First and foremost, the yuddha-beeram.
The Maoists have made their move, giving the dithering government no choice but to follow suit.

The Maoists and the government should now seize this opportunity to turn this yuddha-beeram into a state of permanent peace. Let the Dassain of this year be a FRESH beginning of a new and better Nepal.

Second, the Maoists decided to use Sajha (by way of an email) as a venue to break their news.

Third, this news seems to have appeared on Sajha BEFORE it [will] appear on either Nepalnews or Kantipuronline.

Can someone translate the above press release in English, please? In simple English..with the least political jargons.

1st para: We are popular.
2nd para: The govt. is bad.
3rd para: Enjoy Dashain, tihar, and Chhath but don't mess with us.

If its not a fake statement and if it is a genuine, then, first of all,
I want to congratulate Sajha.com. Sajha.com is heading in right
direction and credit goes to San and its 1000s of users and surfers
around the world. I am proud to be a part of it.

Well, the YB (Yuddha Biram) should not mean a way to garner more
arms by Maoists. If they are trying to illude us it as another "STOP"
to move arms and ammunitions to their stronghold places and attack
later the innocents in the name of Maoism, then, it will their antoher
downfall and wrong approach.

Maoists were on top of public support around 2002 when King Birendra
and his family were killed, "killed by Dipendra!!!". But, the loss of Girija's
support and UML's vandalism policy towards public life and Maoist's trade
off relation between their pledge in press releases and their actions,
have made King G to enhance his -ve image to +ve image. He is slowly
shifting his image -ve to +ve, only problem with him at this time his
idiot son, Paras who moves in public places with Pistol and use it
randomly. IF someone removes Paras from these scenes, I can guarantee
that King G will have more support than Maoists or other political
parties have. In this context, Maoists could have swamped their cadres
in 2002, like Maoists did in Cambodia in 1970s and got huge public
support for a few months if not days. That day in Nepal is already late
for Maoists, because Kathmandu has already smelled the aftermath of
Maoists and the public in Kathmandu will not let Maoists to invade Kathamandu
in the name of Maoism, but, they could have done it in 2002, but no more.
For Maoists its time to settle. BRB smiled when a reporter asked him what
will he do if he is offered of PM post, in their previous hide out move.
Well, chances are that King G will let BRB form his own government this time,
but, its Maoists to accept that chance or retreat from the golden chance.
I am sure Girija will be first one to oppose this move. But, BRB can catch
the chance and hold elections, and if BRB holds election or become part
of holding election, al most all the UML cadres (not the leaders) will switch to
BRB's side: some will switch because of the taste they had being part of govt.
and some will find UML leaders more corrupt and they will switch to find more
honest leaders and they will be caught by the illusion that Maoists are for
our country (Personally, I believe Maoists are also Khaobadi: loota and khau baad).
So, its a golden chance for Maoists, well, if Maoists settle things, it will be
indirectly a good for Nepali peoples too, because they will get rid of direct fear
of being trapped and killed by state forces and Maoist forces.

Whatever I said above, I want to repeat my predictions made long time ago that
the Maoist problem can not be solved before 2009-2010, i.e. still 5 years away.
Maoists leadership has found now dillema that their cadres are not under their
perfect control. So they are now not on the top of mount everest, neither at sea
level, but, they have returned from Mt. Everest and now roaming around
vast Tibetan plate, confused and desperate. If they don't settle there, will be
pushed further down and finally they will find themselves useless at sea level
trying to have a safe landing with dead speed and lets not forget how PolPot
died.

I am not optimistic with this announcement, and I still believe its their antoher trick to
gather more arms. I want them prove the other way round, thats my hope.

Maoists bashing worked.

We did quite a bit of Maoists bashing here in Sajha.com during hte unfortunate heineous crime committed by Iraqi militia terrorists group upon the Nepalese. Bashing is what needed.

Everybody knows.. the political leaders runied Nepal.. and Moaists went to jungle to uplift the country.. but their movements proved to be nothing beneficial to public.. the cilprit leaders like Girije and Gyane and so on are always roaming freely while 10,000 people were killed by both Maoists and Royal Army.

I am not impressed at all by this ceasefire announcement by Maoists. It's not like bringing bokas on the ocassion of dashain from Tibet, Peace is the ultimate necessity for the people and thus Nepalese should not be conditioned to such seasonal peace.

GP wrote something about forming a government headed by Baburam. Stop dreaming buddy! These ass holes have so much ruined the country now that they should stop dreaming about even having a normal life, let alone forming a government. (I will elaborate more on this later). While they themselves have not been able to control their own group, or maintain what they are preaching among their own commanders, they think that they have some magic formula which in itself would create ýequality and peaceý among all people in the country.


While these Maoists, as the name suggests, have some connections with the ideas of Marx, the only thing that I have noticed in their practices concurring with Marxýs ideas is that the revolution should be violent. Other than that, nothing comes even closer added by the randomness of the militias and the self claimed I-know-it-all attitude of the top figures. While Marx was inspiring the working men to fight against a certain class of people, one wonders who these Maoists are fighting for. Are they fighting against the King, or the Political Parties or the People? Their most, if not, every action makes me believe that they are fighting against the people.

Letýs get to the point straight. I am one of those people who have been directly affected by your so called ýPeopleýs war,ý which in fact is actually against general people. I recently got news which I had not even imagined in my wildest dreams; this not only came as a blow to me but shook my whole world. I cannot imagine how my family members are coping at home.
