Won't be any problem. I have worked in SSN too and went to Nepal twice and came back. As long and you have VISA and Valid I20, there shouldn't be any problem. Few years ago some people mentioned that Immigration Officers in Chicago airport, send back the students who has worked in SSN  but i don't know how true was that. At that time i tried to avoid Chicago transit and use NY airport. You can consider yourself very unlukcy if that happens. Except for that everything should be good. good luck and enjoy.

 Hey sathi,
Regarding these matter, one of my fren has been into this condition.
Using SSN at work , doen't really matter as long as you have good status
But immigration at Chicago, JFK are kind of very strict for the student, there are some student nepalese who has been deported and i know them. Their case was because they have sold alcohol to minor and when the immigration officer check his name and DOB they found that he has been to court because he sold alcohol to minor while working in the gas station.

Normally, immigration do not check each and every student. but sometime, they ramdomlly do check Esp, at Chicago and JFK.

As long as you have not been in any criminal case . you should be good. They can't say anything  for just using SSN for your work. There are also some way how student can get part time job off campus job. Rather you can say you are doing CPT through college.

So don't worry. have a nice trip to nepal

Cheers

Secretly US govt wants people to use SSN even if ppl dont have work permit. Because everytime you get paycheck Social Security tax is automatically deducted from your paycheck.

Because you worked without workpermit you will not be legally be able to claim Social Security benefits when you reach 65 years old so basically it is a windfall for the federal govt .

Simpleman,

Your friends were tried and convicted for selling beer to minor, correct? But if the case is still in court and ongoing then the officers cannot track the crime, correct?Cause I believe unless you are convicted, crimes won't go on one's record.

I am in similar situation and is planning to travel soon. I am looking for some solid suggestions but so far I haven't found yet!
