Pakistan Promises to Strike Back After Deadly Indian Attack
India-Pakistan Tensions Escalate After Cross-Border Strikes
Pakistan has vowed retaliation after India launched missile strikes targeting what it called "militant sites" inside Pakistan. Islamabad claims the attack killed eight people—including a child—and injured dozens.
Pakistan’s information minister said its military has already responded, shooting down three Indian jets and a drone, though these claims remain unverified. India says it targeted locations linked to anti-India militants, denying any strikes on Pakistani military bases.
The violence follows last month’s deadly attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir, which India blamed on Pakistan-backed militants—a claim Pakistan denies.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called India’s strikes "cowardly" and promised a "robust response." Meanwhile, the UN and U.S. have urged restraint, with President Trump calling the long-standing conflict a "shame."
As both nuclear-armed neighbors exchange fire, fears of further escalation grow.
