Inquiry regarding non resident nepali citizen
I am looking for the process of filing for a non-resident Nepali Citizen. I heard some have received non-resident Nepali citizens being US Citizens while traveling to Nepal.
Has anyone applied for Non-resident Nepali citizenship staying in the US?
Or
We can do it only from Nepal?
If Yes
what is the proper process to apply for a Non-Resident Nepali Citizen from Nepal?
To apply for Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) citizenship, you can follow the steps below:1. Obtain an application form: The application form for NRN Citizenship can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal. The form needs to be filled out completely and accurately.2. Assemble necessary documents: You will need to provide a copy of your foreign passport, proof of Nepali citizenship (birth certificate, citizenship card, or passport), and two passport-sized photos.3. Submit the application: The application can be submitted at the Consulate General or Embassy of Nepal in your country of residence or at the Department of Immigration in Nepal.4. Pay the fees: The application fee for NRN citizenship is USD 700 or equivalent in Nepali Rupees.5. Interview: After submitting the application and paying the fees, you may be called for an interview. It's not always required, but it depends on the individual circumstances.6. Receive your NRN card: If your application is approved, you will receive your NRN card. This card is valid for 10 years and can be renewed. Please note that the process might take several weeks to months, so it's recommended to apply well in advance of your planned travel to Nepal. Also, the rules and regulations might vary slightly depending on the specifics of your situation, so it's always a good idea to check the latest information from the official sources or consult a legal professional if you have any doubts or questions.Remember, NRN citizenship does not grant political rights in Nepal, and there are certain restrictions on property ownership and business activities. So, before applying, make sure to understand the rights and limitations associated with NRN citizenship.Hope this helps!
