Hi to all sajha senior frens, I need sugestions and help from you guys, the case is like this. One of my freind came in US four months ago in F2 with her hubby but due to some reason the guy left US and went back to the country leaving her alone now as far as I know that as soon as her hubby leave US she will automatically become illegal, so I wanna know is there any way that she can change her status into F1.

Sad to hear about this. I think she should first go the international students' office in the universities she is applying and ask the authorized persons. I think it is possible but from within the university system. The university people will help her forward her case and she will be reinstated to her earlier status (F-1).

As I far as I understand your situation - "Your male friend (F1) left his wife (F2) alone here. And his wife will be illegal right?"

In my opinion, she will have a grace period of two months to leave back to Nepal. Unless her husban's F1 is terminated (like not being in university), the two month will not be counted. So try to join university soon and convert to F1 (it take more 1-6 months to do so).

Good luck
