By the way Maddog; we are going through transformation.

Try looking from the Maoists perspective: thery are winning; revolution; change ; almost end of feudal monarchy; beginning of secular state; hope for communists.

You and me are the Status Quo; for us the changes are against us and the identity. Not for Neps 90% or more below poverty; they are better off following communists view. Some one has to lose so others win. May be you are loosing but see wht the other side is saying.
Don't be narrow; so f..in narrow.

Infact Lootekukur I am actually voicing the problems faced by our brothers and sisters out of Kathmandu Valley, Maddogg is so right as he seems to understand what is going on with the Maoists. How can you be willing to have terrorists take over our country??? Why do you want Nepal to become a communist country??? What our country needs is Education. Our brothers and sisters in the villages are so gullible, they will believe anything and to exploit their innocence is wrong. Making false promises and training them to commit horrendous crimes among one another!!! Is that ethics?? Everyone has one voice even though they were poor at least they had no fear, now they are even poorer than before and have to fear for their lives, why do you want our own people to suffer both mentally and physically??? I think Kathmandu is still safe in regards to the maoists even though the outskirts have experienced their atrocities. But for me i would prefer a shah ruler anyday with a democratic outllook than a Maoist as our Leader!! And I strongly feel this will benefit us Nepalese on the whole.

For the shake of our country we don't need King as well as Maoist. It is already proven that Kingships and Communism are dying throughout the world. So, why Nepal need them? They are both bad for the country. They have already done lots of damage to the country. We need full democracy that is Republic.

You are absoulety correct in saying whetever you've written but have blammed the incorrect person or group of people. If you look back at the history of nepal, it is first of all the Shah kings along with their citizen soldiers who were able to establish and maintain the sovereign land og Nepal. Shah Kings and their people have always worked with hand on hand whenever necessary to defend their motherland against foreign intrusion. It is the modern political, selfish political force I would say rather, that has brought this huge difference between the palace and the people.

King Prithvi Narayan Shah unified Nepal as I suppose you know. King Tribhuwan fought and successfully brought democracy in Nepal for the first time. King Mahendra, walking with the demand of time reestablished panchayat system, but, on the token he also did a lot of changes by developing and implementing many rights designed for the poor, needy and the lower caste people. If you talk to these people who benefitted from rules and regulations invented in King Mahendra's time, they are still very grateful to him. It is again this political selfish parties that have been trying to create the goddam shift between the King and the people. King Mahendra abolished the multi party system back then because he knew very well with his sharp and smart brain that if he did not arrest those illiterate political leaders then they would allow him to do his job as a King. He arrested them and as a result established many rules profiting the pooer, needy and the lower catse people.

King Birendra, he restored democracy sighting people's demands. Now, if you turn yourself to the world history for a bit, how many leaders would you find in the modern world who have listened to their people's voice and even if they have after how long violence and how big of a loss. Look at Mohammed Gaddafi, Fidel Castro, Pinnochet, Saddam Hussein, Iran's Khatami, Pyong Kim, Mullah Omar, Charles Taylor and many many bastards to have crushed their people to silent their voices. Many of these bastards are not even Kings, they are/were dictators. If you look through the same blamming eyes of yours to our beloved King Birendra, he silently gave up all his powers and brought democracy in the country with minimal casaulties of 3 or 4. Most people who were killed during that riot were attacking the security forces so, they were killed while the latter returned fire. It is sad that these poeple lost lives, which helped restore democracy in the country.

And let me remind you, if King Birendra had not wanted to restore democracy back then nobody father would have been able to do so. It was Birendra who brought back democracy in Nepal, not the Nepalese people themselves, and certainly not the goddam political forces who would have long been dead on a same spot, if it was not for King Birendra. The present King, there have been some mistakes from him, but who has not made a mistake in the Nepal's political arena. All the corrupt Congres and Communist leaders have knowlingly done mistakes and they are given a second chance, why not the King?? ANd mind you, it wasnot the Shahs who created the Nepali Maoists, it was the system, the democratic government system headed by freaking congres and communist rules. The present King created the Authority Abuse department which arrested many corrupt leaders who'd taken bribes and did not do their jobs properly. Why not credit him for that?? The political leaders certainly would not say anything for this department because they are so against it as it opens their corrupt file. It is the Nepalese people, educated Nepali people like yourself to see and decide what's right and what's wrong. I really pity people like yourself who do not have th eyes to see what's right and what's wrong, and decide what is right and wrong.

Finally, the Shahs can never be gone from Nepal. They will wlays remian fresh in the glorious history of the Shah dynasty and out Nepal.

Since, we never have full democracy in Nepal, we really don't know the true history. We are forced to belive that Tribhuwan fought for democracy. We are always force to listen and accept that King is always right and fights for right for the people and country. No one can challenge the King, since he is above the constitution? Who knows Tribhuwan is running for his life in India? If there is no Shah King, we would have democracy long time ago. If there were no King, Nepalese would defend themselves from outsiders.

wow its so unreal to read some of these responses.............I stated that the poor uneducated maoists cadres have a false hope of getting rich ....like all of us do...only difference is that we abroad have a better chance than them...........they dont even know how to read and write because a gun was handed to them instead of a pen....forced to fight...abducted against their will from schools and homes...and sent to the battle frontlines to die in the hope of a better life......Alas what a loss...I am not saying that the government had better plans for the poor but niether has the maoists as they have promised every poor a dream so unreal.........Car , house, over 10 K sallary and lots of land ........and where are they getting it from.....????? from the people in the big cities of nepal........the upper and middle class families........I bet we are in that category and I know that my parents worked hard to provide for us and my education abroad...........things didnt come easy for us so why should the maoists with the guns in their hands get it easy. look at the way Nepal has come so Far.......when the people took over after King Birendra gave the power to the political leaders........The political leaders and their next to kin became Rich....those basta*ds didnt have a proper slipper to wear before but now they live in Mansions, Suv, money and power. Seems they took care of their personal needs better than the poor people of Nepal......All the foreign aids Nepal got in the past years would have provided everyone with proper usage of resources....but it fell in the corrupt hands and dissappeared into foriegn bank accounts of the so called political leaders........they are in my book the original sinners who gave birth to the maoists...........not the King...the only fault for the King was to let it all happen right under his nose.....but what to do people have so much trust in their corrupt leaders that when king Gyanendra put them on the judgement stand ....they made the people rise against the king..........and we Nepalese people bought the crap from the corrupt leaders and threw the King out when he was trying to put things into the right prespective........How can the present king clean all the mess, corruption, maoist created by the unjust, people elected, political leaders in such a short time???? and who did The people elect ....Girija ...who had been ousted by the people numorous times for failing us ?????Remember he sold our river to India......India controlls these leaders...NOT THE KING WHO WAS CLEAR TO INDIA ABOUT NOT TO INTERFERE IN OUR COUNTRY'S INTERNAL MATTER IN THE SAARC MEETING?????? Again this is My personal take..........please dont get offended.

Dear Sajha Friends, Nepalese people have seen days of nonsense kingship, corrupt multiparty system and violent maoist rule, but I am not sure whether they have ever experienced democracy in Nepal.

In some of you guys veiws .......KING is to blame for everything that has been done to the public. WOW these politicians are real great brainwashers I guess.............If king is the Appendix.....I think politicians and their brainwashed followers are the Cancer to Nepal.
