All Nepalese,

King of Nepal do not do good to Nepal.

So seven political parties are the best for Nepal. Bahun must be the leader or ruler of Nepal.

Do you think so?

Once again, you've proven that you have no clue what a 'true brahmin' does. Most of them intermingle with their own kind unless there is no one left, or a different brahmin subtype (with a lot of money) have an 'available' person.

WE DON'T DO THIS ANYMORE

We don't believe in arranged marriages anymore. You can marry anyone you want, and believe me, I'm staying the hell away from Nepali 'bauns' (as in cooks in their dhotis).

Infact, I don't believe in caste. I've never said anything of superiority. I've always said that most Nepali brahmins aren't real brahmins (which is true) and that the 'purer' ones are very inbred, which is also true. To understand genetics, you're going to have to take a university class on genetics, population genetics. I can see that all the genetics information you know is just from surfing the net. I've never said anything about superiority, but I can see that you have some deep issues.

Illiterate nepali non brahmin bauns who think they're 'oh so brahmin' are definitely people who I won't be coming in close proximity of. :):):)

wow, what is it with the nepali man and bringing 'marriage' into something unrelated. Aww, why the replies if you 'want me to frigging go away.'

Your hispanic apple picking buddies have blue eyes too? like the true blue non existant nepalis?

A lot of the upper class brahmin families of nepal are mixed to some extent with indians (who later became nepalese citizens). I can see that you're not from this category. Would explain the petty insults.

I also have a red-green color blindness. I am from the khandaan of pure purohit and they still are. But I am not as white.
One more point, where do you find out that Brahmans ever got mixed with Mongols? It was heard that they mixed with the Dravidians that's you they turned a bit dark skinned as they are in South India. In fact, Chhetries mixed with Mongols and that's why you find same surnames in both casts. Like Rana, Rana Magar, Thapa, Thapa Magar, Budhathoki, Budhathoki Magar etc. My cousin's nick name is कुइरे coz he looks like white and has absolutely brown eyes. I wish I could show you the picture but in my lastnames, there are many of them who look like कुइरे and have brown and green eyes.
It is true that most nepalese don't know what brahmans mean. They collectively term all the pahadia hindus as bauns.

Hey Spiderman,
You mind your language first. Learn some manner from Sajhaites. You say that you are not in stone age but behaves like in stone age.If you are not satisfied with the comments made by me you can post your objection in a mannerful way. You are also free to make comments about bahun but do not show that Jungali manner.
Do not get angry, o.k.
As your second comment that Koiralas should be hanged out in open place...That will be unfortunate to Nepal. Do you see anybody except Girija babu challenging Gyane. If Girija dies, King is free to do anything. Most of the Gurungs are the slave of Gyane as you see in army...Bharat Gurung, Tara Bahadur Gurung, Deepak Gurung and so on. Even the so called Deshbhakta sangh is run by a Gurung. Why do not you tell them to leave Gyane?Have you noticed any Koirala in army? Koralas are very proud to be the fighters of democracy.See B.P.How much he did for democracy.

SIMPLE ANSWER: KOIRALA IS BAHUN, CAN ONLY TALK .BIG DOUBT IF THEY CAN PASS THE ARMY CADET'S TEST. WILL NEED LOT OF STRENGTH BRO TO BE AN ARMY OFFICER.NOT AS SIMPLE AS ''CHAMCCHA GIRI'' and big talks to be in politics.

Why do you think bahun changed their surname as CHETTRI to get into british army in 2nd world war just lilke many newar, tamang and sherpas changed their surnames as GURUNG and THAPA.Why do you see less bahuns in nepal army and police?

The answer is obvious
Newar are good in business,
gurung ,rai ,magar n chettries in the warfare and bravery
tamang and sherpas in mountaineering and business
but BAHUNs in their ancestral occupation. i.e preaching which is most suitable in dirty politics

Seriously? This is wierd, because we might turn out to be related :S

No one in your extended family, happens to have an only child to they? Because it would be really funny if I was arguing on the internet with people who turned out to be extended family members.

The non purohit nepalese bhumihar/and even brahmins did mix with the mongols (phenotypic evidence), but most purohit did not. But you'll still see some purohit last names with a little mongoloid features (these are usually just 'bauns' with the last name who do not practice being a purohit). You'll also see purohit last named people who are dark-ish. Mostly, it's either a mix of the non-Purohit and bengali brahmins or bihari bhumihars.

And yea, the kuire thing does happen. When my dad went to nepal last year for my grandfather's funeral, people in Thamel thought he was a tourist and tried to sell him stuff.

Most of the 'bauns' in Nepal do not have a clue on what a real 'brahmin' is.

It's funny to see that some people who base their superiority on the caste system are those who do not even actually belong to that caste.

"Most of the 'bauns' in Nepal do not have a clue on what a real 'brahmin' is."

Not that I am arguing in favor of a caste or another, but isn't this whole concept of caste a culture, something that is learned and passed on to the next generation? Doesn't it mean that there's no absolute point of reference?

It is only perceivable that the understanding of a "a real brahmin" may vary from culture to culture. Your statement may be flawed.

I don't know yet if any of my extended family had an only child. If you could explain a bit more. I have to ask. But it is surprising that there are just about 1000 people in the world are of my lastname. I myself wonder how did it happen?

Hey I am sick of your racist on slauaght. Do not try to divide already divided community. As far as Girija is concerned, he is the main reason for the current situatuion. If it was not for him, there will still be democracy in Nepal.

peace out

Mr Koirala,
Who must learn manner from Sajhaites first, you or me? You, who try to divide community by putting people in levels or me who, confront angrily. Who is Jangali??? Those who pretend to be PABITRA by creating divide in society or those who oppose its community not to be involve in debate.
It is not just Koirala, everyone whoever try to divide community (esp when does deliberately) should be hanged at main chock and you name comes at top because you are criticizing (negatively) all ethnic group.
1. Do you see anybody except Girija babu challenging Gyane. If Girija dies, King is free to do anything.
Ans: Is he challenging or kissing ass of Gyane ? Have you read comments made by him recently that “he wants king to be like PASHUPATI NATH who do not move and talk”. Every thing what is happening in Nepal is due to Giraja. Where was he when royal massacre? What he did after that?

2. Most of the Gurungs are the slave of Gyane as you see in army...Bharat Gurung, Tara Bahadur Gurung, Deepak Gurung and so on. Even the so called Deshbhakta sangh is run by a Gurung. Why do not you tell them to leave Gyane?

Ans: Who are slave and chamche of Gyane and all previous rulers? Count the total number of people (surrounding Gyane) and total number of political parties who support Gayne, is it gurung or your people? See who corrupt more?
3. Have you noticed any Koirala in army? Koralas are very proud to be the fighters of democracy.See B.P.How much he did for democracy
Ans: To be Army, there are certain criteria. Do you think, koirala people fulfill this requirement or it is just ‘ANGUR AMILA CHAIN”
Finally, what I want to say is “gurung people will be in frontier in democracy, shortly”.
and "don't under estimate anyone".

eh, echoes, you're going to have to take a human anthropology class on that one. It's easy for people like thugged out to give stupid explanations based on what they got off the internet, but to really understand what a brahmin is and the evolution behind it, you're going to have to study it yourself.

and yea, while lots of people in nepal have purohit last names, they are not purohits (just mixed people). about the family thing, well they were very sexist. When my parents decided to only have one child, they were all upset that my parents weren't obsessed with the concept of 'euta ta chora paununai parcha.'

Dear Spiderman
I would like to extend the hand of frienship with you. Now you presented yourself in a civil manner. I am happy about it. I have not started this thread, Have I? and I have not insulted any ethnic group as you describe. I am not bahun but Kshetriya. What I am really fedup with is there is a Gurung community in my home town .They always call me as bahun. But I am not Bahun. That is why I suggested all the sajhaites to use the appropriate term only.by using Indoaryan tribe. But I had not thought that things would go up to this point.

I couldn't find out about my extened family. But people with my lastname are coming out with a book about us, which includes all members of my last names. And very few of us has been residing outside of the kathmandu valley.
Had we been migrated to the valley, there should be a huge chunk of my people living somewhere else. But it is not the case.

Anyway, what is your gotra?

There is anthropological research into the caste system without the social hierarchy aspect of it. Aren't you interested in finding out your history? It's not only important in a cultural sense, but it can also be used in research against genetic diseases and genetic vulnerability toward certain diseases.

Nepalisahila, I have no clue on the gotras thing. My dad's pretty much an atheist and doesn't believe in any of the ritualistic aspects of Hinduism.

Ah but were we talking about bio-genetics/research here? I see no indication of that. Or was there perhaps an internal monologue going on during all that caste discussion of "who is who in the caste zoo"!

Hey Echoes, long time no see! :)

No, actually there's anthropological/ historical discussion and the like. I doubt there'll be genetic testing any time soon. Right now, all we have is historical/anthropological data.
