काठमाडौं, मंसिर २७ - भारतले मध्य पश्चिमको बृहत् सिूचाइ आयोजना सिक्टामा लगानी नगर्न दाता युरोपेली संघ र्-इयू) लाई दबाब दिएको छ ।पटक-पटकको भारतीय अवरोधका कारण तीन दशकदेखि अलपत्र पर्दै आएको सिक्टामा ३ अर्ब ६९ करोड रुपैयाू लगानी गर्न संघ सहमत भएपछि यस्तो दबाब आएको हो ।परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालय स्रोतका अनुसार संघको युरोपेली कमिटीले बेल्जियमको ब्रसेल्सस्थित शाही नेपाली दूतावासलाई भारतीय दबाबबारे हालै जानकारी दिएको छ । त्यसको जानकारी परराष्ट्र र जलस्रोत मन्त्रालय हुूदै सिूचाइ विभाग पुगेको छ ।

स्रोत अनुसार ब्रसेल्समा 'इन्डिया कमिसन मिटिङ' मा भारतका तर्फबाट सिक्टाको मुद्दा उठेको थियो । यसअघि संघको उक्त कमिटीले सिक्टामा सहयोग उपलब्ध गराउनेबारे भारतीय चासो रहेकामा ध्यानाकर्षा गराएको थियो ।संघले आयोजना अगाडि बढाउन भारतसूग तटीय मुद्दाबारे प्राविधिक छलफल गर्न नेपाललाई भनेको छ । नेपाली अधिकारीले सहयोगबारे भारतसूग कुनै सहमति लिनुनपर्ने कुरा औचित्य संघमा राखेको स्रोतले बतायो ।

yeah i know that just to stop that trend we are trying our best. thats why u see the above post how india muddles in our process. We are getting loan from ADB, WB, IMF, EU, USA, JAPAN india gots big headache or u say she feels uneasy about it, why so? i know one should be able to look their interest, than whats ur problem when we look our interest. swati, I am glad that u brought up this thread. It is really important to form nepali interest groups. I think we should all leave john alone with his thinking, 'cause this thread is much more than accusations.We should concentrate more on starting to form interest groups to pressure India not to interfare with our interests and to come up with more scientific and fair treaty than the 1950 treaty. Our leaders are not going to do anything on this. They all are eutai dyang ko mulas. I like ur idea of creating NRN pressure groups and maybe if we could start something abroad, we might be able to get some justice that we all Nepalese deserve.

India interested to open 2 more consulates in Terai

Is there any ill motive that we can sense and foil, or is it just a kind gesture by a friendly neighbour deeply interested to uplift Nepalese socio-economic standard of living. Terai, the grainary of Nepal, has always been a neglected region by the rulling elites of the congested carter. The populace subjected to discrimination, is it not high time we look into the plights and bind the community and region to the mainfold, to avert back stab(if) by dagger conceled in the smooth cloak of economic and social upliftment.

KATHMANDU, Dec 16 - India has shown interest in opening additional consulates in Nepalgunj in the west and Biratnagar in the east in the near future.
The rationale behind this interest is to "safeguard and promote India?s long-term strategic, political, trade and economic interests" in Nepal.

This was stated in an official statement issued after the recent Union Cabinet approval for opening the Consulate General of India, in Birgunj.

The Birgunj consulate had been opened a few months ago by temporarily transferring officials from the headquarters and other missions ? in line with the bilateral agreement reached during Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba?s visit to India in September.

Raxaul-Birgunj has traditionally remained the most important entry point into Nepal, and is on its way to becoming "the main artery" for bilateral, as well as Nepal?s main trade conduit with countries beyond India. (dds
