Who knows about Canadian Immigration?

I heard that it's easy and more precisely less time consuming than U.S immigration. On top it's not that expensive and most people from Nepal with 4 years degree plus some years of work experience do easily qualify?

Can you guys elaborate on this topic and help each other.

Thankx

As far as I know, the probability is high if you have masters degree, few years of professional experience and are married. They have allocated points on all these categories. Recently one of my friends applied and didn't qualify because he is still doing his masters. He was short of just few points.

I heard that there is some score for French Language also, is this right?
And what about the difficulty trying from USA, and how long it takes?

Guys,

Go to this site:

It tells you everything about imigration. You can even do Self Assessment if you would qualify using the online Self Assessment Tools.

Don't go after the brokers. You don't need to. This website has everything you need to know about Canadian immigration.

But think twice before applying.... It seems Canada imports skilled people through this immigration and use them as workers/labours in Food Chain, Warehouses and Cleaning Departments (Charpi Bibhag).

But Canada is great for non-skilled people who can get into Canada by hook or by crook, then throw away your passports, and apply for refugee status.

Even Murderers/terrorists are coming to Canada through this channel. Not once, again and again same person came back to Canada, although he was deported. That's Canada... BLAME CANADA as in SOUTH PARK.

To: US Raj.

Some of my friends immigrated into Canada. Immigrate to Canada is not as easy as US immigration. Your thinking and message is totally wrong......

Not 4 year degree.

You must have to have Master Degree and Plus at least 2 years experiences in your technical or skill field.

You must have to show enough money that you can support you and your family while you are doing settle down in Canada.

Immigration of Canada is not free ticket and for all.

Canada wants smart, intelligence, wealthiest and innovative people.

My friend told me that 100% people whoever immigrate and live in Canada by legal permit or visa or green card. Because Illegal immigrates people do not have opportunities to work illegally in Canada.

But US more than 80% live illegally.

Nepali bhai, its not that difficult. You can fill up the forms and send it to Canadian consolate. I think its in Buffalo, NY. You will have to pay $500 and they will let you know the outcome in about 5-6 months. Check the website if you are interested

Doti Prasad,
Prem Dai is not totally wrong and if you wanted to know.....best of my knowledge he is some where 85% right. Doti prasad what do you know about Canada? I think you have a permanent residence of Canada but still you live in US. Over all Canada is not bad place to live and work.

If you have Masters degree from anywhere plus 1-2 years of experience with good status (no criminal record or if you came to F-1 at US then you have to have F-1 or H1B or no status voilation), you may qualify for Canadian permanent residence.

What they need? You can get all the information from www.cic.gc.ca, here are the short list of what you need?
1. Application form (you can download from website or you can get it from any Canadian embassy in US.
2. All your school and college documents
3. Application fee
4. Police reports from Nepal
5. FBI finger print
6. If you have work experience then experience letter

Wel-wisher,
Sagun

I would appreciate if you can point out the other 15% of the info I gave above that you claim is not correct. :-)

Or is it based on your knowledge that my 85% info is correct? Then I have to ask you is your Knowledge 100% correct?

This is awesome!!

Yes Canadian Immigration takes less time. We applied during the year 2000 and got it by 2003. It was a little delayed due to the 9/11 attacks. After that they changed the point system. So first take the score test whether you are elligible to apply. Then once that is done... you can go ahead and apply.

It is also true that finding a job is really really tough there. It is not like US. You have to know people and have a good networking. You cannot imagine of working illegally as legal people dont have jobs.

IF YOU HAVE LIVED IN THE US YOU WILL HATE IT THERE!!!!!! But if you are coming from Nepal then its good.

hope that info was helpful.

Does anybody know about immigration to Australia? I heard that it is quite easy for permanent residence visa (green card) for australia, and not very difficult to find job there.

Dhoti Prasad,
What you can do is like everyone said go to Cisc.gc.ca and you can download the application and fill it up and sent it. If you have masters and few years of Exp you can qualify (min 67 points) but my suggestion is If you can get your legal Status here forget canada this is because 1. its hard to get a job ( the only places you can get your career job is in Toronto, Vancouver, but tehre are few people who end up getting jobs in winnepeg or Edmonton but its rare. 2. You will be frusttared with Chinise and Srilankan and Indians.3. Too cold.4. High cost of living i.e I was paying 200 for my car insurence per month thats not even for full coverage. Plus Appt rents are out ragious.

Ok but before you apply Hope you don;t have DWI coz DWi are considered as Criminal case in Canada.

Good Luck

Prem dai, the reason why you're sagun's 85% and for me, only 30% correct is because of the ignorant comments you made about canada. what makes you say that 'terrorists' and 'murderers' enter canada as a refugee? And Canada is not the only first world country that employs skilled labourers in the food industries and the 'charipi bihag', US does the same too, doesn't it? besides, janitors makes better money as compared to minimum wage most nepalis working in the fast food industry in the US. next time, get your facts straight ( not from a network televison news) before you open that fat mouth of yours.

The reason why canadian immigration is attractive to people who qualify is because of the effectiveness of the system, you get Permanat Residence in a year, and after three years of living in Canada (without counting the days spent outside of canada), you will be eligible to apply for a canadian citizenship and then after 8 or 9 months, you can apply for a canadian passport, which is almost a free ticket to travel around the world, including US, australia, england. As for, (maybe where mr prem lives) US, your green card appliaction is slacked around from your lawyer to the each and every department of the US government, after 911, it will take you forever ( by forever i mean as 'they happily lived FOREVER' kind of forever) to get your work visa, getting the 'green card' is a very distant thought. Numerous nepalis come from the US for this and only purpose only. I know many nepalese people who have a canadian citizenship/ passport and are working for companies in the US and after that you don't have to log onto to sajha (or your lawyer) and worry about your visa status.

Canadian economy is smaller .. tiney.. puney .. compared to it's biggest trading patner, the Great United States. That means less jobs being chased by large number of people. the main reason why skilled immigrants esp from the developing nation cannot find a job according to their qualification is because of the 'standardization' process maintained by the government, which is also the case in US. however if you're willing to back to school, update your skills and/or qualification, it's cheaper in canada to go university, 1 of the top 5 university would prolly come down to 2500 to 3000 CAN a semester for undergrad... so pretty much, you can become a permanant resident of canada, forget about your degree from nepal, update (get new) degree from an accredited university around the world for dirt cheap tuition fees, get your canadian passport and then .. go work in us or england.. or wherever you heart lies. The point is, it's easier to get a work visa under a canadian passport than on a nepali (hariyo) passport..... BUT did i tell you .. that it's COLD in canada?

Prem DAi is right in this matter. I came across this man in the bank that i work at who was denied visa from all of the financial institutions.. he was bengali but had lived in quwait and worked there as a doctor, was a m.d, had phd and everything but now is working @ dunkin donuts.. while his family is still back home.. so sad, i mean he said it'll take him years to do the same courses here to make it equaivalent or what not..
