I recently saw that people around the world are to protest against King G' move...whatever be their motive behind such protests, I don't want to make any comment..

But I just don't understand where were these people when maoists were killing innocent people brutally..why these people never dare to raise their voices against maoist attrocities?? why these people did not try to internationalise the maoist problem by staging protest in its nascent phase??

In my opinion, these people are simply opportunistic who just want to exploit the crisis for nothing..why no one dare to SPEAK againt maoist and stage rally around the world????
will there be a rally that will entirely protest maoist in nepal (without uteering a single word against king)???

there is only one peace that we all look for...feel free to take it either way..yeah, I am talking about the peace that late king birendra sought for the country...Don't you think that these political leaders and parties trashed that propsal of declaring nepal as a peace zone??where are those people who today are talking for peace, when that proposal of declaration of nepal as a peace zone (also approved by more than 150 nations in the world..) was garbaged??? just don't understand why these people stood against the parties to revoke the decision of scraping the "peace zone proposal"....

Don't we need to be called "santi ksetra NEPAL"????

honestly yaar i am impressed.... nice explanation.... and you know after india refused to declare nepal peace zone (santi chhetra)... the misson remain incomplete.. coz after the declaration of peace zone... it would have been almost impossible for India to impose things in a monopoly way.... appreciate yaar... you picked a nice point.

it's understandble that the peace zone proposal needed india's backing also..but hey, why these parties could not convince india for the proposal?? was there any flaw in the proposal??? these parties scraped it just to please india....iwhat's the point of leading to the people and the country when leaders work for other countries and not for the motherland???? was that an indication that our leaders did not want peace in the country????

does someone dare to eplain why???

Simple question to ALL----------

--What HAPPENED between 1991 and 2005 in Nepal in terms of political situation?

--Why did it happen?

--Who is to be blamed?

--What should be done?

Also this is what one of my friend told me when I asked him about his business after the takeover...He said that--"I m happy..there is no more strikes, and it is good for us..It is not affecting our business, and other people also. All these people protesting -either don't have anything to do or even do not know what exactly is the cause..and just jump in such stuff."

How would you argue with that?

Yes I agree that the corruption led to the Maoist involvement. There is no denying on that. But how did the corruption start, and who were the ones involved in corruption? And what are the other countries such as US, UK, India thinking...They are smart enough to know that the system was not working for last 15 years. But then why are they against the move? Is it because they are big democratic power and would like other countries to follow the same path???

BTW its a good idea to protest so that people will be aware of Nepal (those who have never heard fo Nepal), and then do nothing about it. Before protesting please think clearly and try to answer those questions.

Anyways, its should be a different feelings when you protest in Nepal and abroad. I m wondering the same people who will/are protesting in US will protest in Nepal as well.

We have become victims of poor governance, lack of accountabilityso India and
Bhutan have taken advantage of our pitiful condition. Can you protest for 11,000 lives who were killed by maoists?

i am saying the same thing..y people don't dare to stage protest rally against maoist attrocities nepal..why the same peace-seeking people did not protest when parties trashed the late king birendra's proposal of declaring nepal as a 'peace zone country'...???????

ajsab,
Its all because Daiba (Rakshas) dekhi Deuta (god) pani darauchan.
Maobadi bhane pachi ye kangresi / communiste / RPP neta haru kattu ma mutchan, because they fear their own lives. So, why should they care if a low level karyakarta or an innocent nepali is dead ? They won't protest the killing because there is nothing in it for them. They never spoke for the general public anyway, and we shouldn't expect them to condemn the terroristic acts of maoists either.
Afterall, I am sure u read the article that was floating around last week about Kangressi joining hands with maoists to get back to the government !!!!!!!

Why are people in DC going nuts.... why do you want to participate in this rally....

We take US and India as largest democratic country... but even people in US and India supported Patriot Act and TADA/POTA Act respectively to fight terrorism and bring peace to country...

Ok for time being lets assume your rally was well heard by Bush government and it forces gyanendra to go one step back or does economic sanction....

Now what do we gain...

1) let us say king goes one step behind... then again those political jackals will come to power and start snatching our flesh selll it .. they will become rich their living standard will increase ... but poor nepalese will still suffer and die ... and those jackals they have already showed that they will not be able to bring peace with maoist......

2) let us say economic sanction in done... who will suffer poor nepalese ofcourse king will be compeled to increase tax and take more money out of poor nepalese people to support country budget.. .then country will again head to grievious civil war.....turn into somalia or ethopia...

So guys in DC think before you participate in this rally.... do analysis of whom you are helping with participating in this rally....

To bring change in nepal we have always thought a change in system is required.. and king has provided us that... so why not to support him... he is asking just 3 years time .. so let us give him a chance... what other option do we have.....

We take US and India as largest democratic country... but even people in US and India supported Patriot Act and TADA/POTA Act respectively to fight terrorism and bring peace to country...

Lastly, being a citizen of country with fake democracy we should support king and give him chance to lead country to good governance and peace....

Please do not participate in the rally, do not confuse more already confused international community......

Long live my Nepal.....

MerinepalAMA,
good thought!!!! why should we urge people not to go to rally and other craps...let them enjoy their freedom of rights..but i want to warn them the motive behind such protest..why they r being so opportunistic..when there was real problem of violence, and uproot of peace in the literary sense, the same people were hibernating..and now they come out of their hibernation just to realise that freedom of speech, democratic rights are gone....
wake up guys!!! TRY TO REALISE WHAT HAPPENED WHEN you all were hibernating....

..and do whatever u wanna do to enjoy your rights of freedom...

THE ONLY PEOPLE I SEE PROTESTING ARE THE ONES SEEKING TO GAIN SOMETHING OUT OF THIS WHOLE SITUATION. If you look very carefully at both ends... The sacked politicians and the Mao's are crying faul cause they cant have their way. I mean they have had their chance....and they f*cked the country up. I think its time to give someone else a chance.

Its sad to see ordinary people who are suffering from this. People are having a hard time just to survive and these f*ckers are talking are democrasy and protesting. Before you start protesting how about raising some $$$ for those who have been victimised by this whole struggle for power.
