Time and again, keeping in tune with the flow of energy here on sajha, we have had to make few positive changes here and there.

I am sure we all agree that sajha is an excellent source of time pass for most of us who visit the site regularly. It is very encouraging to see excellent pieces of writing here on sajha once in a while. But, as the nature of discussion forums go, these writings disappear into oblivion very soon. Hence lot of good writings disappear from view into the annals of the sajha archives.

In order to provide an easier way to access good pieces of writing, I am currently coming up with a concept of a WRITERS' GUILD - with coaxing from few sajhaites - which will be a webpage where accompliced writers from sajha will be able to post their pieces directly into a non-discussion based Newsletter Formated page, sort of like suskera if you will, but where the accompliced writers will be able to post at will.

The notion is that this Writers' Guild will entertain more serious writing and not immature bashings and one liners that we see so very often in sajha. This guild is going to be different in that it will have few articles posted by few writers but which are of more quality. Selection of writers will be by invitation only. I have a few writers in mind who have time and again written excellent pieces, but I would like to hear from you visitors on who you would vote for. Also, if you are interested in participating in this kind of site, please let me know directly at admin@sajha.com

Best Wishes,
San

NK didi,
Thanks for your confirmation of my selection into the reception of your affection which will provide me gratification, the ultimate exhileration and relaxation from worldly interactions saving me any incarceration from the suffocation and retardation of stagnation for my imagination to be honored with the inculcation of such adulation ignoring my imperfection and lack of motivation showing the separation of earthly possession and psychedelic oscillation.

Oh god i think i got biten by the same numbskull bug. Darnation.

Two people that come to my mind instantaneously are the two very obvious great minds and writers on Sajha and elsewhere. Some other names escape me but, I'm sure you have them all in your list. For what it's worth, here are my two huge votes, with pleasure to read more serious or, just good, writings. (no drum roll necessary)

1. Ashu
2. Sitara

For tongue twisting and baffling language, although with good points, I vote Rastafariya. His views are interesting to read and may be even better if he could actually write articles.

Good luck, San.

It is a really good idea but again how do you select good writers? Who will be going to judge those writers? And does this "guild' point to some kind of clique where only certain people can voice their opinion? It is evident that some people here write better than others but it doesnýt necessarily mean that their perspective is precise. I am up for the idea of making this writing thing more professional and less provocative but I am skeptical about the proposal of making only few selected ýpeopleý given the opportunity to scribble. I think it will be breaking the spirit of sajha.

My solution to this will be giving everybody chance to write and doing so also demanding some kind of quality and class in their writings. I suggest some kind of guidelines. Let us not judge a person by his name and what s/he has done in the past; let us give equal opportunity to everybody so that they can come up with better results. And one more time just having few people write will be truly disappointing and it will be lame for readers like me.

I second casey00 here. A month ago, someone did mention something of similar nature at the DC sajha gathering , and i understood it to be some kind of workshop, where, just by definition, some guidelines did exist, or someone judged others writings for everyones betterment. On the other hand, the way it is posted above, it merely suggests a group of sajhaites are allowed to write and the rest excluded.

Quaoting San dai : "accompliced writers from sajha will be able to post their pieces directly into a non-discussion based Newsletter Formated page, sort of like suskera if you will, but where the accompliced writers will be able to post at will. " , one definitely wonders who is accompliced and who is not. Further, use of the word " Accompliced" second time within next paragraph implies the emphasis laid on a group of sajhaites, one may assume.
What next, if one doesn't get invited, his spirit will be crushed, for sure, and he/she will turn into a mute reader. what does that mean to us. Pobably nothing, for sajha will remain sajha, but is that the desired cosequence ? I wonder..

" Nakara !! ma*****i!! khurukka bhot hal " bhanne bhaye

mero yeuta bhot Ashu, paschim,Nepe,Deep,Jira, SItara, NK, Meera,John Doe, , Dwi,Arniko, punte, kalanki, najar,Simpley gal, bhunte, kharire, kale , chyase, bwase, Suke , ghantauke, Nake, chake, Phatyangre, aadi ka sathai nakkali, nakahrmauli, uttauli, kali, chyasi, boksi, habsi, kichkanni, harule pani sabaile badera linu...malai chai nachyatnu..

"Accomplished writers" of Sajha!!!

What makes someone think that one is an accomplished writer whereas another is not?
Are we going to look at the articles, books, published by a person beforing calling him/her accomplished writer? Or are we just going to trust our own judgement? What if I find a piece very interesting and amusing and others don't? Should I be wrong to call the author an accomplished writer?

And San when you say, some good writing pieces disappear in oblivion, do you know why they have disappeared? Probably they are not good for the majority of people who visit this site. Think about it. For a piece to disappear there has to be a reason.

And very soon, are we going to see a change in the web-site saying, ahhh intellegent, mature people don't visit this web-site, it is frequented by only immature thinkers? And then voila, we are going to see a members site..

And have you thought about changing the name of this site as well? "Sajha" sounds a bit contradicting when you start to filter out who posts what and where.

Just my thoughts.

There might be some misunderstand that I'd like to clear up here. This is a new venture which is totally separate from this sajha kurakani. NOTHING is going to change in this site. So let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

I'm just creating a new site which will focus on more serious writings from more serious writers something like suskera and the nation.

Casey, marich, ghampani and premdai all advocating for non division of classes on sajha and that is all fine and good since as I mentioned sajha is not going to change in any ways.

A new site under the umbrella of sajha will be opened which will encourage accomplished writers to have their own repository of articles while allowing visitors to read articles for what they are worth without any comments. I am sure you have witnessed how sometimes a perfectly valid topic gets tossed and thrown out of hand and out of context during the course of discussion and postings. Some of us like to indulge in one liner smart comments which might sometimes throw the topic off on an unintended spin or simple end the flow. In a discussion forum like sajha that is a very natural and normal thing to happen. In this new site, postings will be retained on a what you see is what you get basis without any potential side trackings since there can't be any replies. This site will be for people who are more serious about writing. It will give them an opportunity to hone their writing skills and at the same time give us readers some good reading material.

In my earlier posting when I mentioned postings disappearing into oblivion, I did not mean it literally! If you have checked out the sajha archives, you know that all the postings are still there. It doesn't get lost! It's just that what you posted a week ago falls out of the main page and sort of disappears, whereas in this Writers' Guild, because there won't be too many people writing, the articles will be more visible. Regarding deciding who is accomplished or not. That was the reason why I posted initially - in order to find out who the public thought were accomplished writers. :=)

Well I hope this answers some of the questions and/or comments that were put forward.

Best Regards,
San

San bro, easiest way to put this, u want to open a e-magazine and you are in need of writers..haha

seriously, what is fun in kurakani if we were not allowed to voice our opinions on what we read..we come here not only to read, but to VOICE OUR OWN OPINION on what we "READ"..

i think ur e-magazine idea is great...:)

San:

I am very supportive of your new venture and hope it turns out to be something fruitful but again I think some of my questions havenýt been fully answered.

ýA new site under the umbrella of sajha will be opened which will encourage accomplished writers to have their own repository of articles while allowing visitors to read articles for what they are worth without any comments.ýýSan

The opening of new site seems like a diplomatic division in the SajhaLand rather than conjunction of literary endeavors. It is my understanding that the phrase like ýaccomplished writersý can eliminate so many people like me who donýt fall into that category even on my best day yet someday like to contribute to some sort. If my voice is to be heard I would recommend the authority to set some kind of standards and guidelines so that we all could express how we feel without being left out. It just doesnýt have to be few writers but it could vast array of beautiful articles that would fill in the site.

ýFor a piece to disappear there has to be a reason.ýýgham Pani

I must agree with San that there have been quite a few posts that have been painfully ignored and made mockery out of it. But as Gham Pani pointed out it is for people to choose what they want to read. I guess they canýt be forced to focus on something that they donýt want to. After all everything is a popularity contest.

Kurakani could be a brutal and honest place to lay out your special talents/writings and at the same time people should be ready for complimentary as well as critical comments. It is an edge that online forum provides and anybody who steps in should be ready for it. And the whole idea of not being able to utter both negative/positive remarks sucks the juice out of the article. Imagine writing a book and not being able to get a feedbackýDoesnýt it feel weird? Umm or maybe it is just me. Lol

I am not being an A$$$$ by arguing here. I just think everybody should get a fair shot at being able to say what they want to say. Today it could be few ýelitesý that are jumping into new battleground of accomplished writers and tomorrow writers like me might be tempted to open up something that is totally dedicated to mediocre writers or maybe some others to have people bashing site!! And list goes oný

San,
Anoter sister site of sajha sounds interesting but it's a bit tricky... to judge who is an accomplished writer or not. I am a bit confused here... should our judgement be based on the sajha postings or writing that have been publised in other forms of media? It's easy to pick out Ashu and Sitara... yeah they are good... and their accomplishments can be verified. What about others? Most sajha posters write in a hurry. Therefore, their potential is not so obvious. So, it would not be fair to them.

My suggestion is rather than head-picking (the accomplished ones) on the basis of what has been posted in sajha threads or elsewhere, why don't you post a criteria for seletion/publication of articles. That will give all the interested ones the opportunity to submit their serious peice. Accomplished and potential ones will get a fair chance.

So, to make it more manageable post topics as well.

HM
