भाई फुटे गवार लुटे I The problem never was Madheshis or Narendra Modi or India. Look at South Korea. Area wise South Korea is smaller than Nepal but look where they are now. We have to look things from real perspective. Useless patriotism will never lead Nepal anywhere. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and India is already in G-20 nations. They are equipped with missiles and nuclear weapons. Reality is: Nepal is weak and poor. This weakness and poverty was the result of our own people not India or Narendra Modi.

This world is a real business. When you have power and knowledge, you get respect. Try gaining respect by doing something that is worth. Instead of protesting against India, please call your family, brothers and family in madesh and educate them why these a few madesh leaders are against constitution and what actually is written in Constitution.
Majority of Nepalese in Madesh are not against constitution , only a few Indian puppets who do not have love to mother land Nepal.

While I can't ignore the fact that india has some influence over Nepal but protesting against them is just stupid. Hashtags such as "#BackoffIndia","#BackoffModi" will just create more chaos and spread hatred against your neighbor. I can see lot of people using lot of offensive language like "dhoti" and lot of insulting graphics against india's interference. I agree with Ujl that we should concentrate our energy solving the problem rather than criticizing other.
India always had influence over Nepal psychologically, socially, mentally and economically. Most of the nepalese specially women don't know the meaning of entertainment except hindi serial, drama and movies. In social media these days they are even speaking their hindi language. I am not saying it's wrong but I am just trying to remind you that you are indeed a slave of their system. I agree that they are interfering our national sovereignty but bitter truth is when you are weak & poor anyone will try to belittle you. That's what USA doing to other countries and that's what Russia doing to Ukraine. Whether you like it or not but that's how the world runs. The best way to solve this problem is listen to those madhesies and agree that they are forgotten group of nepalese and I understand their protest. Try to change peoples mentality starting with your family members asking them stop calling them "madhesi/dhoti/bhaiya" etc. I blame each individual nepalese for this unwanted chaos. Not only madhesi but you shouldn't belittle other like rai/limbu as "bhote", newar as "Jyapu" etc.

What you are seeing in Nepal is bound to happen and you can't just keep your eye closed and insult someone and expect everything will be alright. India is just like another country who is taking advantage of this situation. In Nepal we have developed a extreme culture of blaming other when something bad happens. This is just my opinion and I would be more than happy if someone put an argument against my opinion. I want to hear what you say.

Yes everyone who is able to do so should go and protest and let the whole world know what India is up to. Enough of Indians saying how their country would never invade another country; enough of indians saying how great their culture is and how they are the biggest democracy in the world,
Yes we have our own weaknesses, but India does not make it easy for us to deal with our problems. Now it's more clear than ever that India wants Madesh. Madeshi leaders are deeply linked with Indian politicians. India wants to invade madesh just like Russia did to Crimea. It's the same scenerio. A part of Nepal close to India, inhabited mostly by people of Indian origin with more similarities to Indian culture than to nepalese. But should than mean that, that part of land should belong to India? If India thinks it should, then should they not give Darjeeling and Sikkim back to Nepal?

Stereotypes about people from madesh created by the ones living in hills and mountains, calling them "madeshis", treating them as second-class citizens has nothing to do with what is going on in Nepal right now. It is a completely different issue. The problem right now is not social, but political. Madheshis want the entire south of Nepal to be one single state. This is absolutely not necessary if their concern is representation and recognition. They want a bigger representation in political landscape because they represent almost 40% of nepalese population. But this is ridiculous in a federal state. Every state should have equal representation. Imagine California, New York and Texas having a much bigger representation in american politics than rest of the other states because they together make almost 30% of the american population. Isn't one of the goals of a federal state to secure voices of minorities?
Now it's been clear why madeshis want this demand. They are closer to India in every sense or at least their leaders are then to Nepal. So if we let 40% of nepalese politicans to be from Madesh, it will become very easy for India to use these leaders to extort whatever natural resources we have in Nepal. Nepal and Tibet have many rivers, thanks to the melting ice from the Himalaya. With the invasion of Tibet, China now controls all the water from rivers on the northern part of the Himalaya, and India wants to do the same with the rivers that flow from southern side of the Himalaya. It's all about water as with increasing Indian population, from drinking water to irrigation to hydropower, water will be even more scarce, thus precious.

Madesh is to Nepal just as Darjeeling is to India.

Also INdia blocking oil to Nepal on purpose. And Nepal is looking in more trade with China as govt asks chine to rebuild roads open ports fast. I hope India looses its market to Nepal and do more trade ith China.

- yes

Did Nepali government or Bam dev care when terai districts were placed on curfew for over 40 days?
- no

Did any top government officials, Home Minister Bamdev or any minister care to visit affected areas?
- No; Bam Dev went a step ahead and said he wants to solve it with his power (through violence). Bam Dev should be ARRESTED for giving orders to fire at the protesters above the legs.

- Oli, Krishna Prd. Sitaula and Deuba were VERY Arrogant to let the words to be inserted in the press release when Gachhedar was ready for the agreement.
- PM Koirala didn't care until the last minute and was preparing to travel to the US. He was blind to what's going in the country. He is the one to be blamed for what is going on. He should never had been elected as the PM.
- Deuba had feudal mentality and didn't want to give rights to tharus.
- PM's press statement don't even want to mention on a single word on the people killed in madhesh.
