Hey people... by looking at the stories posted by other sajha people.. I recieved an inspiration to write something of my own.. hehe THough it might not be as good but bear with me..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After spending two years with my parents in the USA I returned to Nepal and was admitted to Modern Indian School. The impression of the school was well known, but my grandparents believed that CBSE was much recognized than the nepali board. My first year there was an average? but my sixth and seventh standard sucked. Though I did manage to pass in the finals, I never really made it in the first and second terms. Hindi- which was a new subject for me, was so difficult that I never managed to pass. Plus I was scared out of my pants of the teacher. Her hobby was to slap me in class. She totally loved it, and as a result I became less confident and became more timid. I did not find any motivation to study Hindi.

Though I was popular in school, as I was the only student that had been to states, but my confidence decreased everyday. I felt more and more inferior and sometimes would wonder why my friends liked me. As a result my grades suffered even more. My parents were back from states and they were noticing my dilemma. It was a different story for my brother. He did not suffer from any inferiority but he started bunking his classes and his grades suffered too. So in the year 1996, when I was 12, my parents made a decision that would affect the rest of our lives. We were to go to India. I loved to read the Malory Towers by Edith Blyton, so was totally excited to go to a boarding school. I kept fanaticizing about how it would be.

There was an incident that almost changed their decision though. In November of 1996, I went to feed my dog, as I loved dogs like crazy. I don?t know what he was thinking but he plunged at me. I felt a drop of blood in my right shoulder and realized that he had bitten me. When my grand parents saw that my ear was bitten they started panicking and wanted to rush me to a hospital. I didn?t understand why they were so fanatic.. but realized how serious it was when my grand dad shouted,

?How can we go to the hospital without the piece of her ear???

The dog had ripped out half an inch of my right ear. Our helper found the piece of my ear near the area my dog was, and we rushed to the hospital. My parents had gone to my cousins place at that time. As my grandparents had some bad experience with Teaching hospital, they took me to Bir hospital instead. We were told that the piece could not be stitched back. Had they taken me to Teaching hospital, it would have been stitched back immediately. So as a result I had to have plastic surgery from a group of Plastic surgeons traveling from the US.

As my dad is a doctor, he took me to several places taking shots.. and man that sucked.
Though a lot of other things were fun like chocolates from relatives. The surgery took place on December 1996, 2 days before my finals, but I managed to pass. On January 1997, my dad, mom, brother and me took a trip to India to find the institute where we were to go? And so the journey started that would leave an impression in my heart for life?
