Every once in a while, certain circumstances arises that makes one really happy. Its been quite sometime since i last felt really reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy HAPPY.

I was just wondering, if its just me or there are others like in this situation. You know when you feel really satisfied, at peace and you just can not help but scream and shout " YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS".

I know small things makes one happy, but i am talking about those small/big things that made you REALLY HAPPY. Mind sharing those moments? Perhaps it would help me and many others to just cheer up a lil bit.
Generally a happy guy,
IndisGuise:)

Meera What you and your colleague from Amnesty are doing is really commendable. I bet you guys made a HUGE difference to that persons life.

Just a suggestion, how about finding cases like those ( put in jail for fighting for freedom/rights/equality) in our country and just getting the msg across. I know it might change a lil, considering how the system works in Nepal, but that lil change could be all those victims would need to HOPE; hope and believe that somewhere someone is fighting their cause and believes in them.

Well just a thought, and let me know a lil more about Amnesty.

May peace prevail
IndisGuise:)

aha! i have to say, my happiest moment was just now, when I read Niskpl's message to me. I was happy to know that he was practicing all the skills he learned from his sajha gurus and role models, and was at par with them. In no time, he will be better than them.

I wish you best of luck. More power to you!

This thread has turned into a textbook case of it, if ever I saw one.

Of late, there seems to be a cabal operating in sajha who have staked out most threads like mongrels in a trash heap that howl and yelp at all passing by. The once engaging kurakani now reeks of the rubbish dumped by these mutts. With their inadequacies in full display, they charge at all comers with fangs bared, high on their chosen addiction, be it pot or plain stupidity.

Making no effort to learn to rise above their inadequacies, there seems ZERO effort to learn. The aim is to drag everyone down to the level of the reeking pits they inhabit. Reveling in their inferiority, they snarl when they encounter any thoughts they are unable to comprehend.

If you can't hack it, LEARN. More importantly, let go of your fragile EGOs and APPRECIATE those more skilled than you. Do not ATTACK others for your own failings.

Some also moan about ?complicated English? and turn their inadequacies into a burning resentment of others. Perhaps English is not our native tongue, but where does it state that no one here is allowed to communicate in anything beyond grade 7 level skills? What utter bloody rot.

There is a growing band of Nepali writers who are creating an increasingly impressive body of creative work in ENGLISH. It is my intent and hope to nurture and support this group. Why shouldn?t the next Arundhati Roy or Pico Ayer be a Sitara, a Nepe or a Dipika? Why ever not?

That's why I was an early proponent of the Sajha Writer's Guild. So that potential writers would have a safe and welcoming environment that would encourage their creative abilities. From the flowering talents of Dipika to the haunting poetry of Mind Games, look at how well it has taken off.

Seasoned sajha readers may have observed that over the past year most of sajha's talented writers have fled to other more welcoming environs. Has anyone stopped to consider why?

Like it or not, ENGLISH is the lingua franca of the world of science, technology, business and education. Even the staunchest xenophobe here either received, or aspired to, an education in an English medium school/university. And yet, this same lot finds it convenient to bang the drum of false nationalism. What rank and shameless hypocrisy.

So this time the pack turns on Isolated Freak. Why automatically assume he is making fun of you just because you can?t comprehend what he?s saying? When in doubt, ASK for clarification or CONSULT with someone who is both SANE and SOBER.

Which of you casting stones at him have his love of learning? So what if I disagree with his politics? I respect his disciplined approach to learning, his vast knowledge in his chosen field. He is a genuine scholar, a man of letters and learning. And, as they say in The Middle Kingdom, Isolated Freak is a CIVILIZED person.

Along with freedom of expression comes the RESPONSIBILITY to put thought behind words. Free speech is NOT FREE. Someone always pays a price for it. Respect all the hard work and investment San has put into Sajha and STOP treating this place like a rubbish dump.

mm rocks
why u may ask???
bad spellings aside, he's like a little part of us we love to hate.
ok, he can't type for shit but the essence of what he says is a lot deeper than any poem or short story i have read.
he is our construction worker with the butt crack showing
our rough uncouth friend
a stranger in ure soirees
that mistakes the merlot for the cabernet sauvignon
oops. he knows way
more about viticulture than you.
sorry mm, i typecast you.
somehow i felt if u couldn't write and sound like
a pretentious
superfluous
find me a longer word dammit kinda poster,
what would u know about
social graces.
jeez. i'd be happier if all u pretentious
wannabes went ure way ,formed ure little cliches, clinked ure
glasses and said, oh we are so better .
much as i hate some of mm rants,i know i am not
better
and i certainly don't feel threatened

"Seasoned sajha readers may have observed that over the past year most of sajha's talented writers have fled to other more welcoming environs. Has anyone stopped to consider why? "

NOPE! You are here today and thats the reason your post is being read, if you are not here tommorrow, its cool, we will find some other post to read, be it good as urs or not. If Sitara, Nepe, Dipika and Mind Games are the only ones sharing their best and bright pieces here in Sajha, then they are best of Sajha till they share, ones they stop writing in here, they are just memories, not the best of Sajha. You have to create ur own welcoming environment, nobdoy is going to welcome you without any reason. Share some of your good writings in here, maybe we will respond with criticisms and good comments, dont write in here at all and sit there and assume your talented?? hmm, for that matter, i just dont know what to say, but i know for a fact many of us are not another tyehi_moro_ashish who will ask you for theri current residence. If i want to expand my knowledge and etertain myself I have Ayer, Roy and hundreds of other who are certainly brilliant and are legends. And at last, if sajhaties have fled away from sajha because of the stupidity created by a tiny fraction of a huge mass, then i must say, our sajhaties are just to damn sensitive.

i was just answering the question, i am not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone, am just neutral :)

Long Live Sajha!

Timi nai Muta na ta CZAR.

Jokes aside, what exactly do you mean by , "This thread has turned into a textbook case of it, if ever I saw one." ????

Mind you, given that you have more understanding and have affluent knowledge of English, certainly much better than the 7th graders; We/I certainly do not belong to your categorized 7th grader skills either.

I firmly believe some people have passion for writing, and thus they search/investigate for new and perhaps better way of expressing their thoughts/creations. But some of us would often use our limited knowledge and vocab to express our thoughts, and we are satisfied with it, as long as it can convey our INTENDED msg. If you have a problem with it, you are better off joining some writing club or the likes to satisfy your quest for your intellectual curiosity. Just the way you are agitated by the attack by some posters regarding the highly intellectual words, perhaps they are agitated by your STUPID comment as well. Always remember, there are different kinds of people and "to each to their own." Your way of looking MANY NOT be the ONLY way to look.

"Making no effort to learn to rise above their inadequacies, there seems ZERO effort to learn. The aim is to drag everyone down to the level of the reeking pits they inhabit. Reveling in their inferiority, they snarl when they encounter any thoughts they are unable to comprehend. "
Here again you are making a personal judgment to other people calling them "inadequate". How do you know they are making ZERO effort to learn. And what gives you right to call other people's level are "DOWN" and "REEKING PITS THEY INHABIT". Agreed you might know a lil more than average tom/dick and harry, mind you I personally am speaking for mahself and am no less than you, and i believe there are many more. Its just that you make such an effort to LEARN and USE your vocab and writing ( which is commendable) that you could put together your thought to make it look more like a literature class type. And i must say, not all those writings are worth reading, let alone demands an understanding from people who has OTHER INTERESTS as well. So watch what your are writing, coz terming other peoples level as "down" and using terms as " reeking pits they inhabit" only speaks volume of your imbecility.

"If you can't hack it, LEARN. More importantly, let go of your fragile EGOs and APPRECIATE those more skilled than you. Do not ATTACK others for your own failings"
---- I personally do make an effort to LEARN every now and then, but am not obsessed with it. And i do appreciate your skill, enuff said. How about trying to understand others? Or do you think those who do not have as good a command in English as thee, are not worthy of your time. you say "Do not ATTACK others for your own failings" and yet you are doing the same; yes you failed to understand the mass and now your are attacking THEM. Practicing what you are preaching might not be a bad idea for you. Just a suggestion.
I could actually pick on almost every paragraph of yours. But I am already tired. ya see, its not my passion (writing). At last, I was really curious if you could let me know Wot "text book case of it" you were talkin about.

you think you are so much better, don't you? you know wot, do not answer, that was a rhetorical question.

And by the way, i don't think seasoned sajha readers had observed that most of sajha's talented writers have fled to more welcoming environment. Even if they did, it would serve you good if you remeber the name SAJHA. Its as much theirs ( those who are relatively new and pops in once in a while) as it is yours. And pleaseeeeeee, don't give us crap by saying "most", coz there are plenty of talented writers here in sajha. Those who left, did it by their own conscience. Do not BLAME others for that. Its up to them to create a favorable environment. Life is no bed of roses and no one can expect to have everything their way. In any case, change is inevitable. I agree with confused bro.
And NO. I have not even given it a passing thought. Period.

And yeah, I do agree with you regarding next Arundhati Roy or Pico Ayer "thing". It would be great if that happens. I can see some of them are already on their way.

Lu ta, aru bhaneko tyastai ho... thakit bhaye ma... aba ekchin My Lady ko janchu ;), Hara-kiri Garnu :p
