Since most of us, including me, are pretty good at finding other's errors and loopholes. I am sure there are plenty of you that will be able to help me with a assignment for my Eng 365 class.

I need to make a list of Hall of Shame i.e. find grammatical errors in newspapers, periodicals, books, billboards and other official publication.

I know most of you are like "what is google for?". But my teacher has said that he will make sure I didn't use google.

SO, IF ANY ONE HAS EVER HAD TO DO THE SAME THING FOR A CLASS PLZZZZ HELP ME OUT.

***Typographical errors do not count. Sentences that are missing the comma before "and" and before the last item in a series also do not count(style option)****

Former US Vice President Dan Quale misspelled the word 'potato' at a junior school classroom infront of students and live national TV. He wrote 'Potatoe' instead of 'Potato'.

No one can outrun their destiny : is correct .No one is indefinate pronoun.
If u say no one can outrun his destiny.. then who ??? thier is no noun involved.Hence
EX:you can say :Ram can not outrun his destiny.

good point ImI.
Kaobaadi, Americans (specially southern) born before 1960s pronounce nuclear as Nucular, Bush is one of them. The phenomenon is called Metathesis. Even Carter (he had Nuclear Navy background) and Bill Clinton pronounced it that way as well.

Just found one on BBC website. The article quoted
"Germany are playing Costa Rica in the opening game in the 59,000-seat venue. "

I am afraid Idont have a logic.

Probably when we talk about Germany as a team, it is not wrong to say Germany are playing against......

I have heard it plenty of times. So it is not wrong. Agreed, I may not have a proper logic but thats the way language is.

Dreamer , english is funny language no doubt about it.
May be it might sound rite to you when you hear or in general converstion but it is not correct grammaratically when you put that in write that in sentence.
just like "pani khane?"

Dreamer is right. team is a plural term when you consider it involving in some activity/motion, so "are" playing is absolutely correct, and "is" playing is not OK.
