Hi all,

I had a friend who got stopped on his way to Nepal via Amsterdam from US, eventhough it was just a transit.

The guy who sold me the ticket says I will be fine, but since my friend was stopped in March, its making me really nervous....

Do you guys know anything about this? Any suggestions??

yes - unless you have valid Schengen visa as well - you do need transit visa to Schipol Amsterdam.

This is a fairly new requirement btw, upto mid of last year, you didn't need any visa. This came into force from 1st July 2006.

Transit visas are fairly easy to obtain - just takes a few days.
