John,
Very nice indeed. I like the way you control the flow of incidents in your stories. This is certainly one of the better stories you have written off late.

I can easily relate some of my African American friends with your JJ. Good things I have found about them are that they are very honest and open-minded especially with their close friends and also tremendously helpful when needed. Being a southerner myself, I happen to have few hillibillies in my small friends community and I very much enjoy their company.

Thanks for sharing your experience!!

Dear Mr. Galt, a most praiseworthy effort, enjoy its rave reviews. Fling your modesty aside for once ;)
It is certainly amazing how you manage to come up all these tales like some magician with his hat and rabbit... or rather convey it to us readers. And now what about a pic of the central character huh? hehehe.. kidding. Hands up those who do wanna have a peek?:P
Hiya Dannyboy, capatain haddock and flippy:)) missed readin ya all.

gone with the wind.,..

John jee,

This is by far the best tale I have read coming out from the Galt land! Superbly crafted narrative skills with your use of the first person narrative that allows the narrator to display the intensity of his inher feelings and thoughts. The depth of such 'confessional intimacy' is one thing that we,your readers, look for in your stories so we too can enter the inner sanctum of your character(s)'s psyche. And you have not failed. The dialogic quality is also striking and this obviously works in tandem with other stylistic features in your prose to deliver your intended overall plot scheme. An impressive end product overall. Keep up the hard work.

Oh, your story reminds me about when I should take my car to the garage for MOT (the annual test to see if it's raod-worthy!). There's then servicing to do as well as the road tax to pay. Phew. Rip-offs everywhere. Pressure-pressure. Or in the more friendly Nep-lish parlance, tensan-nai tensan (tension!). :) There're times I wish I was a monk living in one of those gumbas in the Himalayas.. :) Honestly.

Have got a long super-duper busy day ahead of me. Have a good day.

Hi to the feisty, fiery foxy one - where art thou? Your absense from the Sajha land was acutely felt - missed you and your wicked wit massively.
Welcome back.

Hey JG:

What more can I say of your yet another awesome penmanship....!!!

Well, JJ and I have two things in common- not only drinking Miller Light, but also puffing Newport occasionally. LOL !

Your Ghetto-Superstar, JJ, is truly a champion Ghetto. I just don't understand the reason behind people stereotyping African-Americans or Africans in America. White, Brown, Yellow everybody stereotype blacks- in a negative way. A friend of mine, Nepalese, just fear any one of them from a distant, and avoids a seat in a subway. I am always amazed how people dread people, just because someone is black. Your friend Tara is just another version of my friend. It did not surprise me though....

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving (however I don't celebrate or many of Sajhaities don't), there is nothing wrong to say it right??? But one thing, "Drive Safe" ya' all....

HD

Another good piece from John. By the way ?He was good looking, extremely good looking for an afro? sounds a bit racists if not stereotypical, doesn?t it? There are tons of people who find blacks more attractive than other races.
Anyway back to the point, I also spent few years studying in south and in a small town. Some of your stories have reminded me of those dull Sunday afternoons, empty streets, and churches with filled parking lots. Yet another good work. Keep them coming.

hunk,
thanks for your compliments, I wished the story was more concise....cannot help digressing. And what a surprise....where are you in south?

Miss lost in translation....ni hao,
Didn't I tell you I was badly mutated? I look like an amalgamation of godzilla and kingkong...I only lack their sizes.

lahure jyu,
Reading your reply makes me change the our old forbidden cliche' to "modesty is the best policy" . I am not certainly not worthy of such adulation....but like an avarice newbie...I also cannot be more happy to be praised by such a luminary like you.

well said humdrum,
I had met a few georgtownians in DC last year...all students of medicine...they asked me to get my statistic straight.. the percentage of whites smoking pot was exponentially higher than african americans when compared to their percentage in population. Happy thanksgiving to you too.

Highfly,
wish I had more time for the sequel...which I might...during winter holidays...thanks for reading.

Sristi,
Thanks for reading...I do not see you much in sajha these days...hibernating???

Hurray,
you know how it is in smalltown don't you? whites despise blacks and call em names...but the term afro was just a suitable adjective for the story...had I been a racist...i would not have made friends with jermaine. your narration of small town make me go back to illinois again...how about eating pumpkin pies and visiting fairgrounds during sundays?

gaule,
I learn from people, I keep books aside when it comes to real life issues and yes...meeting every unique character makes me look from their perspective.

anynomous,
I am sorry not being able to stand up to your expectations...but then what would you expect from a newbie like me? it is all gibberish...I am glad you did not miss your train yesterday....
