brother dont mean to be rude but this list of top ten rockers really made me laugh yeah a amateur listner to rock would probably agree to the list but if u are a hardcore rock fan then the list is not satisfactory i consider pink floyd tobe the best rock band ever in the world and they deserve to be in the first place YOU KNOW ITS PINK FLOYD'S MUSIC THAT HAS BEEN KEPT IN A SATELLITE LAUNCHED BY NASA AND AIMED TO BE SET CONTACT WITH ALIENS....so just think here.......and i have my own list of top ten rock bands ever lets see how many agree with me 1....pink floyd 2...balck sabbath 3...led zepplin 4...rolling stones 5....metallica 6...the animals 7...REM 8...the doors 9...jimi hendrix experience 10...ac\dc and i would give special consideration to bands like deep purple,the grateful dead,the clash,the ramones,pearl jam,soundgarden,iron maiden,u2,and many more of the other artists who have influenced genarations of artists and people with their music AS LONG AS THERE ARE KIDS WHO ARE PISSED OFF AND HAVE NO REAL WAY OF VENTING THAT ANGER THEN HEAVY METAL WIL LIVE ON PEACE N LOVE OM SHANTI OM slowersea

slowersea, Yours look better, but I wouldnt give "black sabbath" a top two spot. And Beatles deserver a spot on the list too.

The title for the thread should be My favorite Rock Bands instead. Because the top best ten list is not going to be a one-size-fits-all kind of solution. A quick list of my favorite top bands of all time would be (1)Beatles (2)U2 (3)Pink Floyd (4)Led Zeppelin (5)Nirvana (6)Queen (7)AC/DC (8)Rolling Stones (9)REM (10) (One of the honorable mentions from below) Honorable mention: Eagles Chicago Beach Boys Jimi Hendrix Experience One of many Eric Clapton's bands;Derek and Dominos, Cream, Yardbirds etc E-street Band Radiohead Metallica GNR and a few others I won't break my head to try to recall.

Rock music used to be more of rowdyism. Pink floyd brought art to it. Beatles brought melody to it. Led Zeppelin brought depth to it. Kurt Cobain mixed the madness of rock to the simplicity of an acoustic guitar. DeF Leppard brought style. The list goes on: Metallica, Pearl Jam,.............. I started rock music with Nirvana. Then moved onto all other bands and singers. But years after, I haved started liking Kurt Cobain more than anyone else. It was after I heard Kurt in an interview say "There has been no hard rockers who people will equally accept in a acoustic guitar. I want to become that hard rocker who people remember both as a rodwy performer with a electric guitar as well as a low lying guy with an acoustic guitar." Go Kurt, you have done it.

Metal rocks. Here is my list. But some of them are slightly heavier than those mentioned above. 1) Slayer 2) Sepultura 3) Metallica (before they gave up metal- bunch of sissies. Try old albums like Kill 'em all, Garage Inc., etc. 4) Nirvana's Nevermind 5) Ugrakarma (first Nepalese death metal band) 6) Pantera 7) Morbid Angel 8) Napalm Death 9) The Ocean (European Band) 10) Gwar

These are the Ten of my Fav Bands. Beatles The Doors Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath AC/DC Pink Floyd Hendrix GNR Pearl Jam 3 Doors Down ( They are the Next Led Zeppelins, or at least of my era ) All in all they are all influential Bands, Legendary but ifffff I had to choose one it would be Pearl Jam. They are a mixture of all Beatles, The doors, The Who and Jimi Hendrix
