I recently lived in Ktm for 5 years and came back to the US again and the outlook is not very good. I went there with a lot of determination and longing for my motherland but the reality was very unnerving. Because of the "need" that is created in every facet of life be it electricity, water, healthcare, it is difficult to survive unless you are well connected. And to make things worse the politicians are like mafia who hire hooligans and dons to do the dirty work if they face any resistance. I am sorry to say that Nepal has become a failed state and a hopeless one at that.
New parties are popping up with good intentions but nothing good can be implemented there because most of the politicians are like vultures waiting to make money at every step at every opportunity. I am sorry to write about hopelessness but that is the reality. New parties will not be able to make any difference. It's a waste of anyone's time and hope.
Other people may have had different experience but Nepal is now all about who you know and if you have money. The rest will have very difficult time struggling with day to day life including pollution which makes you sick most of the time with some kind of nose, throat, lungs issue.
Personally it was not worth it for me to try to struggle there so I have come back to the U.S. of A. where the air is fresh and water is plentiful and if you work hard you can have a better life than you will ever have in Nepal.
