This story delves much on my father said this,my father's aunt said this, my father's aunt's sister said this, my father's aunt's sister's dog said this. Heavy on primary account, selective on facts, for starters, people who worked in cash off the IRS's radar mostly qualified for state funded medicaid, long before ACA became law. For employer funded group plan, other than slight increase in premium brcause of ACA mandated 'better coverage', not much changed. For young healthy adult, working in small companies (less than 50 ft employees) and annually making more than certain factor of FPL, hence not qualifying for tax credit, are definitely affected. Those who had insurance pre Obama era had cheaper premiums because the benefits covered were far less and people who had pre existing conditions were either denied or had to pay ransom. Do I like ACA? ACA is step in right direction to rein in the corporate greed in favor of health of all citizens. State of healthcare is indication of a country's prosperity and affluence. But ACA is trying to achieve well being of the citizen and also protect health insurance companies. Time to rethink on this stand and move towards single-payer system. There is no need for health insurance compsny to be making billions. Time for health to be largely non profit, just like education is.
