I have been seeing some fuss in news media about changing the written nepali language. Looks like the fuss is around making written Nepali language the same as the spoken language.
I have always pointed out how we butcher our language by not speaking the long vowels and the short vowels ( difference between Deep and Dip) and not knowing how to distinguish s/Sh a/ya, i/ee and so on. Now it seems like instead of teach kids how to pronounce correctly they want to change the written language to what kids speak like.
What are your thoughts on this? Am i the only one who thinks this is one retarded approach?
