My opinion:
Akhandas were given more preference and tharus were being neglected. Then Deuba and Bhim rawal spoke against tharus. Upendra and madhesi leaders tried to cash in by giving hate speech in Kailali. Maos are always trying to cash in and they do have trained fighters among them. I don't think we should hate all tharus like people are doing in comments on news section and facebook. I don't think normal citizen regardless of race will kill someone so brutally. In this case, victims were police personnel. It could be either mob violence or could be planned as reported by some biased news reports. After the killings, most of news media were very biased on not publishing news about the destruction, beatings, and fear ordinary tharus had to go through in the aftermath. How can the state say it's curfew but ALLOW selected group of people to go burn houses of tharus.
I think this incident should have set an example with fair investigation and punishing whoever involved may it be madhesi or tharu culprits and their leaders. But the government is not interested in that, they're more interested in making political gains. They also tried to take advantage of public sentiment.
Police force is also to be blamed. Noone is talking about lower level injured police personnel and they complained on news report of being neglected by higher official. Everyone is talking about only the highest ranked official. Let's highlight the loss of everyone, not only SSP.
Media report is also coming out of lack of cooperation between armed police force and nepal police for the incident. I'm surprised that noone blamed BAM DEV GAUTAM. He's the one who created this friction between these groups.
If the victims were members of political party, party leaders and ministers would have visited the site. Till yesterday, no higher ranked offiicial had visited Tikapur to find out truth or see the local situation or to boost the morality of local police personnel. ONLY after kantipur reported that neither Police IG or home minister visited Tikapur, IGP went to visit the site recently.
EVERYONE is blaming tharus. Yes, the tharus allegedly committing crimes are to be blamed. There're also many others who are behind the curtain in this incident. But we either need a hero or a villain, and are not interested to know the truth.
No doubt, I strongly condemn the killings of any sort and of anyone.
RIP to innocent police victims who lost their life serving the nation and community. They don't deserve this.
