I know this might not sound good and you may not be expecting this but all i can say is 'It is what it is bro" you gotta deal with it. Everyones situation is same. I rarely find people who really wanted to be away from their family and relatives and i call them Jerk other than that i guess it is natural and its good to have that feelings always on one side coz thats who you are. I miss my family each and every day.Those roads those jungles on the way back home and those friends who i grew up with, it hurts and all you can do is smile looking at their pictures  and those radiculus fake smiles makes me think i am a great actor sometimes but yet life goes on. You were here for a reason and one reason is enough in this country to give you millions of  more reasons to stay get busy which makes your life retarted dont take me wrong but yes it does makes your life retarted.Being with the family is the most beautiful feelings that almost everyone in abroad dreams everyday and some gets lucky and some has to deal with what they get. Going back is never a bad options but think about it will all your frustations changes in to your happpiness once you go back? You said you are a PHD student which makes me think you are way smarter than me so why not make best out of what you have. Be happy on what you are doing do what you do best. Take life as it comes ,  Good luck with your life . (Damn i started missing my family  already reading this post).
