I do not think he is being a jerk here. I think it completely fine if his intentions are pure to complete his life by marrying significant other.

Lot of Nepalese live in US following the US life-style. Boyfriend-Girlfriend and even kids but not married yet. Compared to that this brother is looking for a wife. Which is perfectly fine. I think. He wants to build family with her not commit fornication and leave her with children or by herself in a desperate situation.

May be he lives in the area where there are not many Nepalese. We should learn to overlook other's situations. Make 70 excuses to forgive your fellow human being.
