I didn't comment earlier because I didn't think it should be dragged further, but with ongoing debate I am compelled to put my two cents.

When this poetry "theft" was first reported, this was my immediate comment:
"You didn't goto the event and didn't see the recitation of the poem, so you cannot blindly blame the author. Maybe prior to the poem recitation, he mentioned that he took the first few lines from our Rashtra Kavi. ..."

As I had guessed, the poet had correctly acknowledged the Rashtra Kavita at the recitation. There were few unfounded blames and mockery, but most of the posters, including GT, didn't really blame blindly. It was an outcry for literary justice, and justice was served.

Gaurishwar jee has come forward and accepted his mistake even though the one he committed wasnt grave, specially since he acknowledged the source. he didn't send that poem for publishing, it got posted in FB, and his failure to correct it at that time is a forgivable mistake, specially since he apologized.
That should be the end of story. Anything further is mindless, ego bashings.

One thing we should learn, is to try to give benefit of doubt. Unless and until you have the whole story, you can only question, not outright blame.
