Now that you have shared your incident, I think I owe you one myself. I was working with a couple of Indians myself. Being in IT back then, you could not avoid Indians because it was pretty much Indian invasion of the whole industry. I was asked the same question about the language. I told them that I could understand when they did not speak too fast and I could not speak. This was an honest answer as those guys from Punjab spoke like a noisy rattle snake. I was new to the industry and I do have to acknowlege that they pretty much taught me a lot about software development. If it was not for them I would have been let go in a month.

Here's the conclusion. Just because you came across couple of low file Indians, it does not make Indians in general bad people. Same goes with my experience and it does not make all Indians great. The fact is there are bad apples in every Nationality. Racism leads to nothing but hate... And that does not get us anywhere.... But in any case, good luck to you bro.
