The reason you miss her so much is because you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere with no friends. You may be trying to keep yourself busy with work and other things, but when you come home, it’s just you and you start thinking about her.  Now, the only way to get over her is to start dating. You may think that she was perfect and everything, which could be true, but there are lots of good people out there. If you don’t give other people chances, you’re never gonna find anybody.  

Yes, it’s normal to not get over your ex for years. Just think about all the good things that happened to you and understand that it’s a cycle. You meet somebody you like, you think that he/she is the one, at first everything seems great, as you get closer you start to see the bad sides of the person, you choose to ignore the bad sides because you think you can live with them, then one day you decide that it is not really what you want, you don’t want to make compromises, then you break up. It’s all because even when we think we know what we want, we don’t really know what we want.  Loneliness is unavoidable. Even people in relationships and married people can be lonely.  You just have to learn to live with it. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. But not having friends to hang out with right after break up can be one of the worst things that can ever happen to anyone.  My suggestion is to find a job somewhere where you have your close friends around or may be start dating? You might surprise yourself when you start liking somebody that you never thought you would actually go out with lol. All you gotta do is give somebody a chance, good luck ;)
