Unique H1 Situation

hey catwoman, be careful. when you said the lawyer hasn't heard back from the uscis yet, i thought it was another story of a consultancy lying to its consultant, once again. but this is a ngo twist.
i don't want to dash your hopes, but from whatever little i understand there are certain ngos that the uscis recognizes and others which it won't when evaluated in terms of whether they can sponsor h-1.
so you might want to check that one out.
for example, last time i checked, the ngo had to be involved in a higher education or research, not just a simple, say nepali-translating two-table cabin labelled "timbucktoo refugee services" ngo!
even if you are filing from a low-profile ngo, make sure your paperwork shows some uniquely important reasons to get you an h1.
good luck.
